My Summer Vacation Plan

With the summer vacation coming, I will make a plan for it. First, ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

¡¾´ð°¸¡¿My Summer Vacation Plan

With_the_summer_vacation_coming,_I_will_make_a_plan_for_it._First,_I'd like to spare some time to relax myself by listening to music, watching movies as well as exercising. Besides, I plan to spend more time with my dear family. At the same time, I'm going to volunteer in an old people's home. I will buy some gifts and sing for them. Last but not least, it's quite important for me to keep studying hard. I must prepare myself well for the challenging learning in the senior high school.

As far as I'm concerned, summer vacation is a good time for me to do something meaningful. Therefore, I'm sure to make the best of it.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿ Imagine a perfect day: the weather is good and everything seems fine. When, suddenly, your mobile phone loses its signal, the television has no programs, and you can¡¯t get online with your computer.

What has happened? These are just the types of problems a solar storm£¨Ì«Ñô·ç±©£©might cause. You may not think of storms as putting our society in danger. But today, a solar storm is as serious as other bad events, such as earthquakes.

A solar storm is caused by solar flares£¨Ì«ÑôÒ«°ß£©: large explosions£¨±¬Õ¨) near the sun that can give off lots of energy. The strong energy can stop the satellite systems£¨ÎÀÐÇϵͳ£©that control our computers, telecom networks and so on. These storms can even cause the power to go out for weeks or months.

In the past of months, scientists have recorded some of the strongest sun flares in years. The most recent one happened around Valentine's Day, 2011. It caused radio and satellite signals to go down in some northern cities in China.

¡°Solar Flare activity is going to be much worse than what we¡¯ve seen in the past. We¡¯re not talking about a few cities losing power. It could be half of the country, maybe more.¡± SolarStormWarning. com, a US website about space weather, warned.

Scientists say that little can be done to predict such a storm. Governments around the world are trying to work together before the next storm, although they are not sure when that may happen.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿ This year, about one hundred teenagers from all over China will spend one year in American homes. They will attend schools and meet teenagers in U£®S., and have a new understanding of America. At the same time, about one hundred American teenagers will come to China to learn Chinese and get a new understanding of China.

A 15yearold exchange student, Fred, spent last year in China with Li Hua's family. In turn, Li Hua spent a year in Fred's home in America.

But I have to say that I like it very much. In China we do nothing but study. Here we take part in many outside activities.¡±

A.China and America.

B.Japan and America.

C.Australia and China.

D.Africa and Canada.

¡¾2¡¿What's the most important purpose of exchange students in the other country?

A.To attend schools.

B.To learn a new language.

C.To live with the host family.

D.To get a new understanding of that country.

¡¾3¡¿According to the passage, we know ________£®

A.Li Hua didn't like American schools.

B.Fred knew much Chinese when he arrived.

C.Chinese students take fourteen subjects at school.

D.Students in U£®S. have to finish homework first after getting home.
