John Baird, the inventor of TV, was always interested in science. He built a primate telephone system at
the age of 12. Later, he and his friends made a plane.
In 1922, Baird had some ideas about some inventions that he was interested in. One of them was sending
pictures by wireless (无线电). Then he began to work with some old things, such as an old motor and old
wireless telegraph (电报). He almost killed himself several times by wrong wires.
Finally, on October 2, 1925, Baird did send a picture of a face, the face of a 15-year-old boy who worked
in the office next to Baird's workroom in London. In 1929 Baird sent pictures from London to Glasgow. In
1940, he sent pictures to New York, and also produced (产生) the first colour TV pictures.
