My 11-year-old daughter has been offered an academic scholarship (奖学金) to a private school. I point out that even the best private school won’t protect my children from disappointment or hard work. And finally, it's decided.
Because I understand it's my family that shaped me instead of my great private school education. I can no longer remember the maths problems and what Shakespeare said which I once knew so perfectly. The lessons from my family, however, have turned out to be impossible to forget.
