I've never thought that a money raiser could have had such a huge influence on my life. Back in 5th grade, our school announced a money raiser and each class would get a box to fill it up with small _______. To make my class to come to the first place in the money raiser, I took two fifty-dollar bills _______ to school and put them into the box.
Two weeks later, my parents asked me about the money. They said they had discovered the truth and weren’t _______, but I must do something to make up for it.
My dad had the perfect idea in mind. The day _______ Christmas, he took me to St. John's Hospice in north Philadelphia, and explained to me that we were going to be working in the kitchen for several hours, making meals with potatoes and chicken for the 300-400 _______ men that came in each day.
As the lunch began. I thought I could wait for this by playing with my new toys. But as the mealtime went on. I realized how poor some people in this world actually are.

For ten weeks, in a great house on the island of St Thomas , John C. Lilly tried to teach a six-year-old dolphin to speak English. Margaret Howe, an experiment (试验) helper, would live day and night with Peter, a dolphin. And they would eat, bathe(洗澡), sleep and play together from Sunday to Friday, with only Saturdays off for Margaret. She lived her life in swimming clothes -- with a coat on colder evenings —and cut her hair short so that she could get on with Peter more easily.
After a few days, Peter was becoming more and more interested in winning her attentions. He threw a ball against her shower towel to get her to play. As time went by, he only wanted to play ball with her and not on his own.
The problem was that, just at the time Peter and Margaret began to get on well just as two best friends, the experiment ended and the lab was closed. After a few weeks, Margaret received the sad news that Peter had killed himself by refusing to breathe, and sinking to the bottom of his pool.

A couple of years ago, I went to Australia for a meeting with my friend, Chris. We decided to drive across country to Brisbane after the meeting ended. The drive was going to take four days and most of it was across the desert, 1.. The first day was a lot of fun as we were excited and laughing at each other’s stupid jokes. By the third day of driving in the seemingly endless desert, we began to get bored. We had been quiet for a few hours when in the distance Chris found some kangaroos. We were both excited and decided to get a closer look. 2.We got closer and closer, and Chris was doing 110 kilometers per hour. We were very close to the kangaroos—too close—when we heard a loud BANG!
Chris stopped the car and we got out. Behind the car was a larger kangaroo lying completely still on the ground. 3. He took off his sunglasses and put them on the kangaroo and did the same with his jacket. Then, he put his arm around the kangaroo and told me to take a photo of them together. 4. While I was focusing the camera, I saw the kangaroo move. It suddenly woke up, looked at Chris, and jumped away into the distance before we could do anything.
I started laughing but Chris looked very serious. 5. I started laughing even harder. I stopped laughing, however, when he said that our car keys were also in the jacket!
A.I was still surprised, but I took out my camera.
B.He said his wallet and passport were in the jacket.
C.In order to get there in three days, we drove very fast.
D.so we had to take food, water, and extra gas with us.
