    When I was 16 years old, I made my first visit to the United States. It wasn’t the first time I had been abroad. Like most English children, I learnt French at school and I had often been to France, so I was used to speaking a foreign language to people who didn’t understand English.     Each nation has many good people who help to take care of others．For example，some high school and college students in the U.S.A. often spend many hours as volunteers in the hospitals，orphanages（孤儿院）or rest homes．They read books to the people in these places，or they just visit them and play games with them or listen to their problems．
