Bitwalking is an invention(发明物) by a small company(公司) in London. To make people walk more, this new app(应用程序) on the smartphone is paying its users according to(根据) the number of miles they walk each day.

With this app, walkers can get one “Bitwalking dollar (or BW$)” for about 10，000 steps, or 5 miles (about eight kilometers). One person can get at most three BW$ per day. Now, people can only spend the money in the Bitwalking inapp marketplace or trade it for cash(现金), but the company's heads Nissan Bahar and Franky Imbesi say that over time BW$ will become popular. “Some shoe makers are ready to accept BW$ payments, for example, and a UK bank could work with Bitwalking for an event，” they said.

One idea behind the app is to make people healthier. But the company also have another idea: to improve people's lives. In poor countries, people have to walk a long way to work, or to school, or just to get water. Workers in the countryside get less than one dollar a day. By walking around with the Bitwalking app, they could make three times more.

The company also set up Bitwalking centers in some poor places. At the centers, people will learn how to use the Bitwalking dollars or trade them for cash. Bitwalking is really helping to change(改变) life.
