【题目】 One day a professor(教授)entered the classroom and asked his students to prepare for a test. The students waited nervously at their desks, the professor began to hand out the papers. To everyone's surprise, there were no questions, just a black dot(点)in the center of the page.

The professor told the students. “I want you to write about what you see there.” The confused students got started on the task. Twenty minutes later, the professor took all the papers. After a quick look, he began to read each one of them aloud. They all described the black dot, trying to explain its position and so on.

“I’m not going to grade you. I just wanted to give you something to think about. No one wrote about the white part of the paper. Everyone paid more attention to the black dot and the same thing happens in our lives.” the professor said.

“Our life is like a gift. We always have reasons to celebrate being alive and healthy, the beauty of nature, our friends, the job that provides us a way to make a living and so on. However, we keep focusing only on the dark dots, such as the health problems, the family arguments, the disagreements with friends and so on.”

“The dark dots are very small compared to everything else we have in our lives, but they are the ones that pollute our minds, so just take your eyes off the dark spots in your life”. The professor continued, “Be happy and live a life positively!”

【题目】 Do you often listen to music at loud volumes(音量)? You should know that this habit is bad for your hearing, according to the World Health OrganizationWHO.

Over 1 billion young people are at risk of hearing loss due to listening to loud noise for long periods of time, WHO said. Listening to music or watching a TV show at loud volumes can harm your hearing.

The United nations has standards for safe listening. It is not safe to listen to sounds that are louder than 85 decibelsdB分贝)for eight hours or 100 dB for 15 minutes. The sound of a busy road is about 85 dB and the sound of a rock concert can be about 100 dB.

Loud noise is harmful to the inner ear(内耳). Most of us are born with about 16,000 hair cells(听毛细胞)in our inner ears. These cells detect sounds. However, listening to loud noise for a long time can make these cells work too hard and cause some of them to die. This is what causes hearing loss.

Some people might think that their music isn’t that loud. But this depends on where you are. For example, if you are in a noisy place like the subway, you might turn up your music too loud without realizing it. Later, when you listen to it at the same volume in a quiet place, you might feel uncomfortable.

WHO said the “safe level” for most sound is below 80 dB for up to 40 hours a week. A level of 80 dB is nearly equal to the noise of a subway.

【题目】 People are playing video games everywhere these days, whether they're riding a bus or sitting in a restaurant. Some of them enjoy these games so much that they can't put them down. But is this a healthy habit? The World Health Organization (WHO) doesn't think so. In June, it recognized“ gaming disorder(障碍)” as a mental disorder in its International Classification of Diseases, CNN reported.

"Gaming disorder means continuous or repeated video-gaming behavior, whether online or offline. Of course, not everyone who plays video games has this disorder. It has three main signs.

The first sign is when the player loses control over his or her gaming habits. The second is when playing games becomes more important than other activities for the player. The third is when the condition leads to serious problems in the player's personal and family life.

In fact, some countries are already working to solve this problem. South Korea has introduced a law banning (A iE) children under 16 from playing online games between midnight and 6 a.m., USA Today reported. Chinese tech company Tencent is also setting limits on the amount of time that teenagers can play its games. Children between 12 and 18 years old can only play two hours every day.

If you have “gaming disorder", you should ask for professional medical (E 7) help. But if your condition is not that serious, you don’t have to see a doctor. You can use delayed satisfaction to deal with it.

For example, if you want to play video games on weekdays, you can wait to play them during the weekend for three hours. Or if you really want to play them after school, you can tell yourself that you cannot do so until you have finished your homework.

1According to the passage, which of the following persons may NOT have "gaming disorder"?

A.A person who loves playing video games with his friends.

B.A person who loses control over his or her gaming habits.

C.A person who thinks playing games is the most important.

D.A person who can't communicate well with his parents because of the game.

D.①②③;④⑤;

3The underlined words in the passage mean in Chinese

A.延迟满足B.及时满足C.强制解除D.循循善诱

4Which of the following is TRUE?

A.Playing video games every day is a healthy habit.

B.In South Korea, children under 16 can play online games at midnight.

C.In China, children of 15 years old can play 2 hours every day at most.
