Spring Cleanup Day 2014,Rockland

What better way to welcome spring than by helping to clean up the town we all live in!Here in Rockland we have a Spring Cleanup Day eveiy year in April. The Cleanup Day 2014 will be on April 20th.

It will start with a town cleanup at 8 o^lock in the morning,and a tree planting activity at the Rockland Park is to follow in the afternoon. One thousand young trees are sure to make the park greener and prettier.

We will divide the people coming to help into eight teams for eight different areas . As usual,we will provide gloves,rubbish bags and other cleaning tools. You will also get free lunches and T-shirts when the cleanup ends at noon. We are going to have a friendly competition to see which team can pick up the most mbbish.

Bring your kids with you. It is a great chance to teach them to care for the environment around us. We have free drinks and chocolate candies for the children at the parte.

Arthur was very fast and hit the ball hard.Mr.Charity could see that Arthur would grow up to be a good tennis player.By the time he was ten,Arthur won a tournament.Many older and bigger players came to the park trying to win the prize,but Arthur beat them. He becameknown as “the kid who could play tennis”.

Arthur grew up to be one of the first successful African-American tennis players. He played and won all over the world. Arthur Ashe was more than an amazing tennis player,though.He started a program that gave children living in cities a chance to learn how to play tennis.He cared about people.
