Doctors at Britain's world famous Cambridge University believe that hip hop music can help the people who are mentally ill. They call it”hip hop therapy (疗法) ”The doctors said that many of the lyrics (歌词) in hip hop songs could reach out to the people with emotional problems. A team of doctors wrote a report about this. One is the classic 1982 tune "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five. Another is called "Juicy" by The Notorious B. I. G.    Nowadays, everybody is taking selfies (自拍照) . Frorr your best friend to your favorite pop star, selfies are becoming popular on Renren and Sina Weibo. The word " selfie" was even named word of the year by Oxford Dictiouciries in 2013.

But why do people feel the need to take them? And are llie selfies doing more harm than good to us?

According to Dr Pamela Rutledge, psychologist and director of the Media Psychology Research Center in the US,posting a selfie online shows a biological need for self-validation (自我认可) .

Humans have an area in their brains that controls social activities. Receiving positive feedback (反馈信息) cm a selfie you have posted online can be the same as someone stopping you in the street and complimenting (称赞) you on your appearance.

The act of taking a selfie also puts you in a position of power. You are the director and the subject of your own work of art. It helps people feel in control of their self-image and can be a powerful tool.

But can it go too far?

Psychologists warn that spending too much time on selfies can affect peopled confidence, particularly for teenagers. If you are spending a lot of time choosing the perfect selfie outfit (着装) or finding the right angle, then there could be a problem.

Likewise (同样地) ,posting selfies online can harm your personal relationships. The UK studies found that many people find it hard to relate to people who often post selfies online.

So next time you hold your smartphone to take a quick selfie,it may be better to drop it straight back into your pocket.

Throw a stone across the water and see how many times it skips (跳) .Have you played this game before? The more times the stone skips, the more cheers you will get. But do you know the secret behind its success?

With the help of high-speed cameras, scientists at Brigham Young University in the US have found out the secret skills of stone skipping.

The first step is to choose the right stone. " Use flat round stones (disc-shaped stones) , and find a weight that allows you to put a lot of spin on them," Tadd Truscott,an assistant professor, told The Huffington Post. Discs are usually easier to skip than rounded stones.

Then, here comes the key part: find the right angle. According to the Guinness World Records, the world record for stone skipping is 88 skips set in 2013 by an American called Kurt Steiner.

Professor Truscott said the skill depends on what angle the thrower chooses to throw a stone at. The best angle for discshaped stones is close to 20 degrees (度) . But the heavier the stone is,the flatter this angle should be.

If you find 20 degrees hard to measure, you can try another way. Give a great deal of backspin (下旋) to a rounded stone,so it will go under the water and then pop up and out of the water.

"To make it,you need to throw the stone at a much higher angle than for the usual skipping,M Truscott said to The Huffington Post.
