    Meng Peijie was born in Shanxi province in 1991 in a poor family.When her father died in a car accident in 1996，her mother had to give her up because she wasn't able to support her.Liu Fangying，a worker，adopted(收养)this five－year－old girl.There were three years of happiness until the day Liu got serious illness.Her illness made her lie on the bed all day and all night.Worse more，because of her illness，her husband left home and never returned.Liu attempted to kill herself，but Meng Peijie saw it and stopped her.She cried “Don't leave me，mummy.You are the only one who cares for me.You and me make a family.” From then on，Meng had to learn to cook，wash，shop and take care of her adoptive mother by herself.She was so short that she even had to stand on a chair to cook.

    Life was hard for them，but nothing could stop Meng Peijie from going to school.Every day，she got up very early，did some housework and hurried to school.She worked very hard and did well in her lessons.In 2009，she went to Shanxi Normal University to study.She rented a house near school and arranged(安排) her adoptive mother to live there with her.
