Dear David,

Glad to receive your e-mail. Our school has made many safety rules for us to follow. Let me tell you something about them.

We are asked to be careful with electricity when we are using it. It is dangerous to play with fire, for it may cause terrible accidents. We should make sure doors and windows are shut before we leave. Besides * we are not allowed to swim alone, especially in deep rivers or lakes. If we really want to,we must go to the swimming pool with our parents or teachers . What's more, following traffic rules is also very important. Everyone should watch out when crossing the road. And our school warns us not to play on the road.

I think these rules are necessary as safety comes first.

   Have a good summer holiday!

Yours,

Wang Wei

   (3) For those of us who are studying at school, the time of exams is very stressful and difficult. Some people find exam times so bad that they become ill, because they are afraid of failing;they are afraid of letting their parents and family down. If exams are really making you ill or worried, don't hide your feelings. Talk to someone about it. Maybe you can speak to a friend,or someone in your family,or teachers at your place of study. If one person doesn¡¯t help you,ask someone else.

How to get through exams? Here is some advice£º

Ask a teacher or tutor about how to review your lessons, and exam skills ¡ªhow to work when you are in an exam.

Take short rests during your time of work. If your mind is tired,it will not remember well.

Plan your work£º study at times when you know you will work at your best.

Get enough sleep, and eat healthy food.

You need exercise to work well. Walk, run, play sport¡ªwhatever you enjoy.

Stop thinking about the future and failing.

If you feel ill, talk to someone about your worries. But don't be too relaxed! (4) Some stress over exams makes you work hard for them.

If it upsets you to talk to your friends about an exam when it is finished, don't do it!In fact, don't even think about the exam you have finished. What is done is done. You cannot change what you have written!

   To this advice,we could add£º

If you are studying in the evening, don't go straight to bed. Your mind will still be ¡°going round and round¡±Ò» thinking too much. Do something else, maybe walk or get exercise. Choose something that will relax you,and make you think of other things.

¡°Homestay is a form of study abroad program. It allows visitors to rent a room from a local (µ±µØµÄ) family to better understand the local lifestyle. It also helps to improve the visitor's language ability ,¡± said a teacher during a school meeting last term. ¡°Students who wish to learn more about foreign cultures or to get foreign experience should join this kind of holiday. I am sure you won¡¯t be disappointed (ʧÍûµÄ) .¡±

After this special meeting,I always thought about this kind of holiday. Last month I had a chance at last to go on such a holiday with some of my schoolmates and we went to London,a place where I had wanted to go since years ago.

As we were still young,we had a group leader who planned things for us and looked after us. After we got to London,we went to stay with different families. I was lucky that my host family (¼ÄËÞ¼ÒÍ¥) was a white couple who had a daughter about my age. They treated me as a daughter of their family during my stay there. They were interested in me and I learnt a lot of things from them, too.

The holiday was filled with activities every day. After breakfast,a local teacher would come to take us in his car. Then we would have classes or go on a sightseeing trip to different places of interest like the Big Ben,the London Bridge, and the Buckingham Palace. We would go back to our own homes after the activities.

The holiday was a valuable experience for me. I enjoyed every minute of it. Yet,time really flew fast. Three weeks later,we had to leave ¡°home¡± for Hong Kong.
