【题目】 We are excited when we reach our goals, and at that moment we laugh, clap and so on. Without doubt, good results make us joyful. However, we cannot always get what we want and be the winner all the time. Some people can’t help doubting “Are our efforts in vain?” The answer is “No”. We should remember that we are not only measured(测量)by how many goals we've reached, but how we acted, which means, process is also important.

Here is an example. Fruits are delicious. It takes trees a long time to bear them. In the process of growing, trees have to suffer from bad weather, insect bites and also intentional destructions(故意的破坏) from human beings, So it is with us. Our life is like a journey. At the beginning, we set a goal, dreaming of it every night, but we should never forget that we spend most of our time on the journey. Unfortunately, many people only complain about the failure and then give up hope. In fact, it is the failure that teaches us to be brave and stand on our own.

I myself deeply believe that only those who experienced a lot can own the highly-valued characters, and that only those who adventured(冒险) can have the chance to succeed. It is said “No pain, no gain.” We are still young, still full of energy, so why are we afraid of failure and why do we hesitate(犹豫)to take an adventure?

Young men, let’s forget results, leave out pain, and just look forward and don’t miss any chance on the journey!

【题目】Little Women

Chapter 1 Four sisters

"Christmas won't be Christmas without any presents," grumbled (嘀咕) Jo, lying on the rug (地毯).

"It's so awful to be poor!" agreed Meg, looking down at her old dress.

"It's not right for some girls to have plenty of pretty things, and others to have nothing at all," added little Amy, with a sad sniff (轻哼).

"We've got father and mother, and each other," said Beth gently.

The four young faces on which the firelight shone brightened at the cheerful words, but darkened again as Jo said sadly, "We haven't got father, and shall not have him for a long time." She didn't say "perhaps never", but each silently added it, thinking of father far away at the war in the South.

Nobody spoke for a minute; then Meg said: "Mother advised not having any presents this Christmas because it is going to be a hard winter for everyone; and she thinks we shouldn't spend money for pleasure when our men are suffering (受难) in the army. We can't do much, but we can make our little effort. But I am afraid I don't"; Meg shook her head thinking regretfully of all the pretty things she wanted.

"But I don't think the little we should spend would do any good," said Jo. "We've each got a dollar, and that won't help the army much. I agree not to expect anything from mother or you. Let's each buy ourselves what we want, and have a little fun. We work hard to earn it."

"I do, teaching those tiresome children nearly all day when I really want to enjoy myself at home," complained Meg.

"You don't have half such a hard time as I do," said Jo. "How would you like to be shut up for hours with a nervous, fussy old lady, who is never happy, and worries you till you're ready to fly out of the window or cry?"

"It's naughty to fret; but I do think washing dishes and keeping things tidy is the worst work in the world. It makes me cross;and my hands get so stiff to practice my music at all"; Beth looked at her rough hands with a sigh that anyone could hear.

"I don't believe any of you suffer as I do." cried Amy, "for you don't have to go to school with rude girls, who laugh at your lessons or your dresses, and say bad words because your father isn't rich."

【题目】 Livestreaming(直播) is turning out to be quite a big trend. From playing video games to dancing to K-pop, streamers are making big money simply by sharing their daily lives with the world. Some streamers even become world-famous, especially e-sports players like Shroud and Ninja.

I don’t really watch a lot of livestreams. When it comes to gaming, I’d rather play video games myself than watch someone else play them. But I understand that some gamers might watch them to pick up playing tips.

Sometimes livestreaming is a bit vain. A lot of streamers are just doing it for the attention. That being said, I’ve also found some good streams. For example, one streamer I used to watch would hang a sign around her neck that asked for tips. When her tips reached a certain amount, she would put a metal bowl on her head and hit it with a wooden spoon. It was weird(怪异的),but I just couldn’t stop watching sometimes. I’d never seen anything quite like it before.

Other streams can show us things that we wouldn’t usually get to see. Since you can start your own livestream with just a smartphone, even people in the countryside can show us their lives. I’ve seen parts of rural(农村的) China that I would never normally see by checking out their streams. It gives me a look at a lifestyle that I’m not very familiar with.

In the Renaissance(文艺复兴) Period15001650, people became interested in higher education. They wanted to learn the a1 languages such as Greek and Lat in languages that were used in the old times, and study mathematics, science, and so on. Many universities were set up during the 16th century.

University education was a privilege(特权)of the rich. Girls were not allowed to attend and poor people could not a2 to go. A member of a wealthy family could attend university at the age of ten. He might study in different universities and since the teaching was all d3 in Latin, it didn’t matter which country he studied in. It was not unusual for a young boy to study one year in Italy and another in France with out speaking either French or Italian.

It was p4 in the 16th century to complete university without learning how to read or write. Since books were handwritten, there was not enough to give o5 to each student. Often, only the teacher had book. He would read to students who would memorize what he said. Tests were oral, not written. In fact, many students finished school without ever writing a word

For the not so wealthy, grammar schools were built in towns. They learned basic grammar and mathematics, and took part in Bible study. At home, girls learned washing, cooking, dancing, and the basics of taking care of a household. Poor children r6 attended school.

The Renaissance was a time when learners did not simply accept what they were told. They did scientific experiments themselves to search for a7 to the mysteries of the space.
