¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Uncle Li and Uncle Wang are good friends. They live next to each other and their farms are both at the foot of the mountain. So they can help each other. But neither of them likes to use his head. They're both poor though they work hard. Most villagers have built new houses, but they still live in the low and broken houses. They never find out why.

Once Uncle Li went to town to buy some medicine for his wife. In the town he heard the apples in a city were expensive. He told Uncle Wang about it as soon as he went back. They decided to carry some apples to the city. They borrowed some money from their friends and bought nearly 1,000 kilograms of apples in the villages and carried them to the city on a tractor. Bad luck! A lot of apples has already been carried there when they arrived. A few days later they had to sell them at a low price (¼Û¸ñ)¡£They felt unhappy and returned to their village.

"I can't understand why we sustained (ÃÉÊÜ) losses in business while others always profit (Ó¯Àû)" Uncle Li asked one day.

A gentleman put an advertisement in a newspaper to look for a boy to work in his office. From nearly fifty persons, he chose one and refused the others.
"I should like to know," said a friend, "Why you liked that boy better. He did not have a letter or a recommendation (ÍƼö)."
"You are wrong," said the gentleman. "He had a great many. He cleaned his feet at the door and closed the door behind him. That showed that he was careful. He gave his seat at once to that old man. That showed that he was kind and thoughtful. He took off his cap when he came in and answered my question at once. That showed that he was polite and gentlemanly."
"I threw some books on the floor and some persons went over them, but that boy picked them up and put them on the table. He waited quietly for his turn instead of pushing. When I talked to him, I found his clothes were tidy, his hair was brushed clearly and his finger nails (Ö¸¼×) were clean. I think these are more important than a letter and a recommendation."

How green are you? Do you know how to be green?
We all need a healthy environment, but we produce waste every day and it does harm to our environment. Though we are young, we can still do something to help. Here are some ideas for you.
Reduce
Reduce means "use less". Don't waste things. This saves money and reduces pollution and waste going into the environment. Before we buy something new, think whether it is really necessary¡ªor maybe the old one will be just as good! When we do buy things, choose local products if possible, and try not to buy too many things from abroad.
Reuse
Reuse means "use again". Use things for as long as possible. When we buy things, make sure that they last a long time. We should look after them so that they will last, and we should repair them if we can instead of throwing them away and buying new ones. Don't use a paper cup of a paper bag. It's better to use a china£¨´É£© cup and a lunch box because you can use them again.
Recycle
Recycle means "change things into something else. Though it takes energy to change something into something else, it's better than throwing things away or burning them.
£¨1£©What is the passage about?
A.How to produce things
B.How to burn things
C.How to help others
D.How to be green
£¨2£©Which of the following is right?

C.Always buy new things
D.Buy too many things from abroad
£¨3£©The underlined word "last" means " ".
