    How much sleep do we need? We are all different. Some people need only three hours of sleep a night. Others need ten hours of sleep a night. Most Americans sleep an average (平均) of seven to eight hours a night. After the age of fifty, the average sleeping time goes down to 6.5 hours a night.
    Most people have a bad night when they can’t fall asleep (入睡). The name of this problem is called insomnia.
    This isn’t a new problem. Many famous people in history had insomnia, too. Some of these people had special ideas to make them sleep. Benjamin Franklin, the famous inventor, had four beds. He moved(移动) from one to another to fall asleep. King Louis XI V (国王路易十四) of France had four hundred and thirteen beds and hoped to fall asleep in one of them. Mark Twain, the famous American writer, had a different way. He lay on his side across the end of his bed.

Plants can't walk around to find water, so  being able to control water is very important.
    So there you have it , what a plant cell wall is. Of course, there are many other things that are not talked about here. Knowing more about plant cell wails requires further study and research.

    Maybe you know floods, earthquakes, sandstorms and so on. But have you heard of typhoons?
    Typhoons are some of the worst storms, usually around the Pacific Ocean and the South China Sea. Most happen in July, August and September.
    How does a typhoon happen? When lots of sea water gets hot in the summer sun, it evaporates （蒸发）into the air. This makes the air hotter. When the air gets warm enough, it starts to move higher up into sky. Then cooler air around it rushes in. It fills the space that is left.     Typhoons are very dangerous. In November this year, Typhoon Haiyan killed 5500 people in Philippines. More people are missing.
    What to do when a typhoon hits?
    Stay inside. Close all the windows and stay away from them.
    Try to bring all of your things inside. Strong winds could even blow away your bikes!
    Listen to the radio or TV for important information.

    The World's Largest Insect
    This giant insect can be used as a toy. A child ties one end of a string to a stick and the other end around the "neck" of an insect. Holding the stick, the child lets the insect go.     It was a village in India. The people were poor but they were happy. After all, their forefathers had lived in the same way for centuries.

    Now, the people are still poor. But in the evenings they sit in the village square and listen to sounds of insects and frogs. These sounds of the night now have a much deeper meaning.
