    Things can be very dangerous in a fire. Do you know how to deal with them?

    If you cannot get out of your room, close the door and put blankets or quilt(被子) at the foot of the door. They can stop the smoke from coming in. Open the window and shout for help. Call 119 or wave a flashlight or a piece of clothing from the window. Let people know that you are still inside the building. You can’t stay under the bed or in the wardrobe. When the firefighters come in, they will need to find you. So stay by the window on the floor.

    If your clothes catch fire, remember the words: stop, drop and roll(滚动)

    Stop running. Moving around will make the fire even bigger. Drop to the ground. Lie down on the ground. Roll around. Roll from side to side to stop the fire.

    If your friend’s clothes catch fire, don’t let him or her run. Shout, “Stop, drop and roll!”

    Once they are down and rolling, you can use a blanket, towel, or other heavy cloth to help put out the fire on their clothes.
