¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿As a volunteer teacher, I traveled a long way to a small village school in Longzhou, Guangxi. On my way there, I thought about the village, the school, and the children there. However, my heart sank when I arrived there. It wasn't what I expected. It didn't look like a school at all! The school had only three rooms, one for Grades 1, 2 and 3, and another one for Grades 4, 5 and 6. The third one was for me.
The children welcomed me warmly on my first day. They asked me a lot of questions, and I told them stories about myself and my life in Shanghai. The next day, I gave them a test to find out their level. Though the test was very easy, over half of the students failed it, yet they all wanted to learn new things. I knew they needed me.
I was busy preparing lessons, reading test papers every night. I enjoyed teaching these lovely and hardworking children, and I could see that they were making progress with my help. I have also learned a lot from them. I understand their lives better, and we are now good friends.
I have worked in Longzhou for a year so far. I¡¯m very happy, and the experience has been very useful for me. I love the small village school and the children. In fact, I would like to continue working here.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿There are many American expressions about insects(À¥³æ) like bees, for example. Bees are known as very hard workers. They always appear to be busy, moving around their homes or hives. So you might say you were ¡°as busy as a bee¡± if you spent your weekend cleaning your house .
Here is an expression about bees that is not used much any more, but we like it anyway. We think it was first used in the nineteen twenties. If something was the best of its kind, you might say it was ¡°the bee¡¯s knees¡±. Now, we admit(³ÐÈÏ) that we do not know how this expression developed. In fact, we do not even know if bees have knees!.
Hornets(´ó»Æ·ä) are bee-like insects that sometimes attack people. If you are really angry, you might say you are¡°mad as a hornet¡±.And if you ¡°stir up a hornet¡¯s nest¡±, you create trouble or problems.
Butterflies are beautiful insects, but you would not want to ¡°have butterflies in the stomach¡±. That means to be nervous about having to do something, like speaking in front of a crowd. And do you know any expressions about ants?
¡¾1¡¿When Mrs. King spends her weekend cleaning the house, we can say she is as busy as _________.
A. a bee B. a hornet
C. a butterfly D. an insect
¡¾2¡¿When you say to others ¡°I am mad as a hornet¡±, what do you really mean?
A.I must stop working. B.I am the best of all.
C.I create some problems. D.I feel really angry.
