    Napoleon was Emperor of the French from 1804 to 1815. He was a great general(将军) in history. In his life, there were so many important things. But he was also an ordinary person who had ordinary feelings.

    Once Napoleon stayed in a small inn(小旅馆).The next morning, he went to thank the innkeeper.

  “You have served me well, innkeeper,” said Napoleon. “I wish to reward you. Tell me what you want.”

The soldiers took the innkeeper and his wife out into the yard.

There lived a great general(将军)about a hundred years ago. His name was Napoleon. He was the leader of the French army, and France was at war with nearly all the countries around. He wanted very much to take his soldiers into Italy, but between France. and Italy there are high mountains called the Alps, the tops of the mountains are covered with snow.“Is it possible to cross the Alps?”said Napoleon.
