Who Is Foolish?
Once there was a millionaire(百万富翁) .The millionaire loved money more than anything else in the world. He bought the best houses and spent a lot of his money on himself,but he never helped the poor people in his town. After the people worked for him,he would try to give them as little money as possible. So everyone in the town hated him.
But the millionaire didn't know how much money he had. One day,he asked a little girl to count all the money for him.
The little girl worked six days to count all his money. She told the millionaire that he had forty-two million dollars. The millionaire was very glad when he heard this. Then he asked the little girl, " How much money do you want?" "Well,I worked for six days," answered the girl, "you should pay for six days. Give me two dollars for the first day,and four for the second day. Each day after that,just give me the amount(数量) you gave the day before, and multiplied by itself. " The millionaire agreed with her quickly and asked his lawyer to write down the girl's words. Then he laughed and said to himself,"How foolish she is!"
At last,the millionaire found himself foolish. He had to give all his money to the little girl by the sixth day.
