Dear Mrs Wang,

No word can describe my thanks to you, my English teacher.

When I first came into the middle school, I was poor at my English. One day, you asked me to go to your office after school. You listened to my problem patiently and encouraged me to keep studying hard. We made a plan for my English study. After that, you started to help me from time to time. Finally, I made great progress in English.

I thank you very much for all the help you has given me.

Have you ever heard of Diwali? It's one of my favorite celebrations that my family take part in. Coming from India, my parents have always wanted to make sure ¡¾1¡¿ we celebrate both English and India festivals. Diwali is also known as the festivals of lights. It is traditional to light up your house ¡¾2¡¿ candles and small oil lamps to ¡¾3¡¿ the triumph (ʤÀû)of good over evil. Nowadays, we usually hold ¡¾4¡¿ evening party to celebrate Diwali. We spend most of the day ¡¾5¡¿ and decorating the house before the evening party begins. The house becomes tidy and beautiful. The evening party is a good ¡¾6¡¿ for family and friends to come together, enjoy some ¡¾7¡¿ India dishes and dance the night away. The house becomes a place full of laughter, music and Fireworks. It is always important that everyone takes part in the celebration. For years I watched as family, ¡¾8¡¿ and friends travelled from work and home to make sure they were home in time.
