  Yesterday was Sunday. Since I had no class, I did not get up until 9:40 a.m. After I had my late breakfast, I asked my mum if she needed me to help her do some housework. She thought for a while. Then she said, "Tom, your dad has just bought a painting, but he hasn't got the time to put it up on the wall. Maybe you can do it instead." "Where should I put it up then?" I asked. My mum said, "Put it up on the one of the walls in the sitting room. You can decide where exactly to put it up." "I think I'd better put it up above the TV set!" I said. When I was doing the job, my mum was watching me. After finishing doing the job, I asked my mum if she needed me to do something else. My mum showed me a broken chair in the corner of the sitting room. After checking the chair, I found there was something wrong with two of its four legs. I thought I would be able to repair it myself if I had the tools. After I found the tools, I spent no more than ten minutes repairing the chair. My mum was very happy to see the repaired chair. She sat on the chair and said, "Tom, I have never thought you can be so able. I am so glad you can do something like this."

This was the first time I offered to do things for my mum, and it made her very happy. I am sure I will be able to do more things for her and make her happier.
