George was very stingy (吝啬的). He hated spending money.
Whenever he had to buy something, he always argued about the price and tried to bargain (讨价还价),
even for the cheapest things.
If he wanted to buy a bottle of coke, for example, and the shopkeeper asked for $2, George would say,
"Make it $1.90 and I'll buy it."
Sometimes the shopkeeper agreed to reduce (降低) their prices a little. "What's ten cents?" they asked
themselves."If it makes this man happy, then it won't hurt me very much."
In this way George saved a few cents here and a few cents there, and by the end of the year, he had
saved several hundred dollars.
One day he had a very bad toothache and had to go to the dentist. The dentist looked at the tooth and
said, "This tooth will have to come out. It's too damaged (损坏的) to save."
"How much do you charge (要价) to take out a tooth?" George asked.
"Forty dollars." the dentist said. "Forty dollars!" George thought this was much too expensive.
"How long will it take you to pull out the tooth?" he asked.
"About two minutes," the dentist said.
George could not believe what he was hearing. "Forty dollars for two minutes' work!" he shouted.

It's about our geography trip. First, on Friday, we'll meet at the school gate because that's where the bus
will be. We'll start out at seven thirty, but I want you to be there at a quarter past seven, so we'll have

That should be enough.
For the project work itself, you'll need to take photos, so you can take cameras with you. You also
need a notebook, so you can write down what you find.
Now we've booked into the Knellsmere Hotel, that's K-N-E-double L-S-M-E-R-E and, by the way,
they have a public phone if you want to ring your parents and don't have a mobile phone. When we stay
in the hotel, we should get back to the hotel before 9:00 p.m., so after dinner you'd better not go far away

根据短文内容,判断句子的正误.正确的在括号内写“T”,错误的写“F”。
If you go into the forests with friends, stay with them. If you don't,you may get lost. If you do get lost,
this is what you should do.
Sit down and stay where you are. Don't try to find your friends. Let them find you. You can help them to
find you by staying in one place.
There is another way to help your friends or other people to find you. Give them a signal (信号) by
shouting or whistling (吹口哨) three times. Stop. Then shout or whistle three times again. Any signal given
three times is a call for help.
Keep on shouting or whistling, always three times together. When people hear you, they will give two
shouts or two whistles. When a signal is given twice, it is an answer to a call for help. If you don't think that
you will get help before night comes, try to make a small room with branches (树枝).
What should you do if you get hungry or need to drink water? You would have to leave your little branch
room to look for something to eat and drink. Don't just walk away. Drop small branches as you walk so that
you can find your way back.
The most important thing to do when you are lost-stay in one place.
(     )1. If you get lost in the forests, you should walk everywhere to find your friends as soon as possible.
(     )2. You can keep on shouting or whistling always three times together for help.
(     )3. When you hear two shouts or whistles, you know that people will come to help you.
(     )4. You can't go anywhere even when you feel thirsty or hungry.
(     )5. You can find your way back to your branch room easily without leaving any branches as you walk.
