It’s well-known that there’s no shortcut to success but hard work. One of my experiences helps me realize the truth again.
As I entered Grade 9, I found I had difficulty in speaking English freely. Therefore, I decided to improve my oral English by taking the following measures.
First, I kept on listening to tapes and reading aloud to improve my pronunciation. Second, I tried to read English books where I could learn many native expressions. Although it was quite challengeable, I managed to develop it into a habit. Thanks to my great effort, I am comfortable speaking English now.
