       The baiji is a kind of river dolphin. People aLso call it “Chinese river dolphin” or“underwater panda”. It only lives in the middle part of the Yangtze River in China. A baiji does not have many babies，only one every two years. At birth,a baby baiji is about 80 to 90 cm long,and weighs 3 to 5 kilos. An adult baiji is about 1.4 to 2.5 meters long, and weighs 135 to 230 kilos. Baiji’s food is mainly small fish,and it can eat about 10 kilos of fish a day. A healthy baiji can live up to 25 years. Baijis like to stay in deep water and can swim as fast as 60 kilometers an hour. They like to live in groups,but they are afraid of people.
