    Dust storms are Beijing again. The people of Beijing are wearing masks to protect their mouths and noses. The dust storms are a problem for the people of Beijing. For several years. The storms have made being outdoors dangerous. Why do the sandstorms hit Beijing and How do we solve the problem?

    The sand and dust are a problem whenever the wind comes from the north.. ①When the wind is________, it        dust and sand from the desert to north-west China.②Often the sandstorms are so bad that drivers have to be careful and use their headlamps to help them see what’s in front of them.

    The Central Meteorological Station(中央气象台)says that sandstorms are a problem in summer because the land is drier. This means that the earth does not stick to the ground and the wind carries more sand and dust. When there is more rain, this does not happen, but this area is one of the driest places in the country. Dust storms also affect(影响)other areas like central and northern parts of China. Gansu and Shanxi provinces are also affected.

       Sandstorms are a difficult problem because of people’s carelessness with the trees and grasslands. People are cutting down too many trees and raising too many sheep or cows on grasslands．So many grasslands and farmland become desert(沙漠)or sand. One way to solve the problem is to plant trees to hold earth to the ground. This will also bring more rain because plants help make the world’s rain. So, solving the problem needs a long-term plan. Today, the people of northern China have to protect themselves from the effects of this unpleasant natural disaster．

Coyote did what she said, and after three days of bathing in the lake, his white fur turned deep blue.
    Convinced(确信的) that blue fur was even more beautiful than blue feathers, Coyote forgot all about being hungry. He ran as fast as he could to the top of the hill. Standing on his back legs, he raised his front legs off the ground and howled. But Coyote slipped(滑倒) and rolled down the hill. He couldn’t stop himself, and the dust and dirt covered his new blue fur. He rolled and rolled until he hit into Bluebird’s tree heavily. No matter how much he tried, foolish Coyote could not shake the dust from his fur. And so the fur of all coyotes had the dull colour of dust to this very day.
