If you go into the forest with friends, stay with them .If you don’t, you may get lost. If you do get lost, this is what you should do. Sit down and stay where you are. Don’t try to find your friends. Let them find you. You can help them to find you by stay in one place.
There is another way to help your friends or other people to find you. Give them a signal(信号)outing or whistling (吹口哨) three times. Stop. Then shout or whistle three times again. Any signal given three times is a call for help.
Keep on shouting or whistling, always three times together. When people hear you, they will give two shouts or two whistles. When a signal is given twice, it is an answer to a call for help.
If you don’t think that you will get help before night comes, try to make a small room with branches.(树枝)
What should you do if you get hungry or need drinking water? You would have to leave your little branch room to look for something to eat and drink. Don’t just walk far away. Pick up small branches and drop them as you walk so that you can find your way back.

The smoggy weather         the country’s land from north to south, including Beijing, Hebei, Shandong, and 6 other provinces. People could only see clearly           than 50 meters in some areas.
Cities           Shanghai and Nanjing have been covered by the gray sky for the past several days. Many walkers in the street had to wear          . In the Lukou airport in Nanjing, more than 60 flights were canceled(取消) on Saturday            the haze, which also made primary and middle schools and kindergartens stop           on Thursday and Friday in Nanjing.
The office worker of Environmental Protection said earlier this week that there were several        reasons behind the widespread haze: unpleasant weather conditions making          difficult for smog to disappear, motor vehicle exhaust(尾气), and coal use for winter heating.
To fight pollution, the Chinese government now plans to clean up the air by cutting coal use,         some factories, and removing 6 million old cars from the roads.
“We must face up to the facts,” said Yan Naiqiang, a professor of environmental science at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. “The treatment of smog will be a long fight. From now on, if we use buses or cars less and do more riding, we believe a clear sky is not a faraway dream.”

Grown-ups are often surprised by how well they remember something they learned as children but have never practiced still swim as well as ever ever since. A man when he gets back who has not had a chance to go swimming for years can in the water. He can get on a bicycle after many years and still ride away. He can play catch and hit a ball as well as his son. A mother who has not thought about the words for years can teach her daughter the poem that begins "Twinkle, twinkle, little star"。remember the story of Cinderella or Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
One explanation is the law of over learning , which can be stated as follows: Once we have learned something, additional learning trials(尝试)increase the length of time we will remember it.
In childhood we usually continue to practice such skills as swimming, bicycle riding, and playing baseball long after we have learned them. We continue to listen to and remind ourselves of words such as "Twinkle, twinkle, little star" and childhood tales such as Cinderella and Goldilocks. We not only learn but overleam.
The multinlicatinn tables(乘法口诀表)are an excention to the general rule that we forget rather quickly the things that we learn in school, because they are another of the things we overlearn in childhood.
The law of overleaming explains why cramming(突击学习)for an examination. though it may result in a passing grade, is not a satisfactory way to learn a college course. By cramming, a student may learn the subject  well enough to get by on the examination, but he is likely soon to forget almost everything he learned.A little overlearning. on the other hand, is really necessary for one's future development.

It’s in the 2010s.You feel sick, so you go to the doctor. She checks your fever, looks at your throat, and asks what you’ve been thinking about lately. When you leave, she gives you some medicine, but also a list of thinking skills that you are supposed to practice daily. She says that the way you think is causing some of your illness.
Doctors and other scientists who study the human mind and try to explain why people act in the way that they do, called psychologists (心理学家), are starting to believe it. You know that your brain (脑) is connected to every part of your body through your nervous system (神经系统). Now scientists have proved that how you think and feel can have an influence on the health of your body.
Stress is caused whenever there is a problem or a change in your life. Of course, everybody has stress more or less; nobody’s life is perfect. In fact, stress is necessary. Without stress, we would never learn anything or grow or change. We would probably be bored to death. But too much stress can hurt you. It can weaken your body’s protection so that you are more likely to catch diseases. It can even make you more likely to have an accident.
When you feel stressed, your brain sends a message to your body to produce a chemical called adrenaline (肾上腺素). Adrenaline speeds up your breathing and your heartbeat. Today you have a different kind of stress. Problems like endless homework or troubles with your family are the kind of things you can’t fight or run away from, so you don’t use up all that adrenaline. It just stays bottled up inside you, and that’s what can do something bad to you.
What can you do about stress? First, you can try to find ways to change things so you aren’t under so much stress. You can set up a plan to finish homework or go to a doctor or a psychologist to try to work things out with your family or your friends. But sometimes you can’t change a stressful situation. Sometimes you don’t even want to. A big change might be a good change, but it will still be stressful.
The link (关联) between your body and brain works in two ways. Your body can help your mind deal with stress. If you are under stress, you need to take especially good care of your body. It’s important to get enough sleep and eat nutritious (有营养的) meals. Some people take a vitamin-mineral pill every day. Another thing that you can do is daily exercise. If you go walking or do aerobic dancing or work out at the gym (体育馆), you give your body a chance to burn up some of that adrenaline. Of course, a person who isn’t used to much physical activity should start slowly. Anyone with a continuing physical problem should check with a doctor before starting any exercise programs.
小题1:Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
A.You shouldn’t go to the gym if you are under stress.
B.One can do his homework to burn up adrenaline.
C.Disease and accidents are caused by stress.
D.Everyone needs stress to improve himself.
小题2:From the last sentence of Paragraph 5 we can infer (推断) that _____________.
A.it’s difficult to change a stressful situation
B.it’s not stressful when a good change takes place
C.a big change will cause another stressful situation
D.a stressful situation can’t be changed without any effort
小题3:What is probably the best title for this passage?
A.The Body-Brain LinkB.The Causes of Stress
C.The Advice on HealthD.The Nervous System

Do you want to live a happier, less stressful life? Try laughing for no reason at all. That’s how thousands of people start their day at Laughter Clubs around the world.
The first Laughter Club was started in Mumbai, India, in 1995, by Dr Madan Kataria. “Children laugh about 300 times a day. Adults laugh between 7 and 15 times a day,” says Dr Kataria. “Everyone’s naturally good at laughing — it’s the universal (共同的) language.” There are now more than 500 Laughter Clubs in India and over 1,300 worldwide.
Many doctors are also interested in the effects (影响)of laughter on our health. According to a 5-year study at the UCLS School of Medicine in California, with laughing there is less stress in the body. Laughter improves our health against illness by about 40%.
So what happens at a Laughter Club? I went along to the nearest club in the south of London to find out. I was quite nervous at the beginning of the class. I had no interest in laughing with a group of strangers, and I was worried about looking stupid (愚蠢的). Our laughter teacher told us to clap our hands (拍手) and say “ho ho ho, ha ha ha” while looking at each other. Although we couldn’t tell the differences between fake laughter and real laughter, they still produced the same healthy effects.
Surprisingly, it worked! After ten minutes, everybody there was laughing for real and some people just couldn’t stop! At the end of the class I was shocked by how relaxed and comfortable I felt. So if you’re under stress, then start laughing.
