Phone Folds in Half
Is it possible to fold（折叠）your phone screen? We probably didn't think about it a few years ago. Huawei's newest phone, the Mate X, is foldable. You can fold it in half as if you are closing a book. But what makes the Mate X different is that it is folded from the outside.
The Mate X is both a phone and a tablet（平板电脑）. When folded, it works as a phone. When unfolded, it can be used as a tablet. The phone is very thin. When opened, it is 5.4 mm thick, and when closed, it is just 11 mm.
The Mate X supports 5G, which means users can download a whole movie in just a few seconds. But users can only take selfies（自拍照）when the phone is folded. That's because the phone doesn't have a front camera. You have to turn over and use the rear camera instead.
With the growth of the economic level, there is more and more demand（需求）for the function（功能）of smart phones. The smart phone market is always changing very fast！Can the Mate X take the lead? “It will take years to make the consumers believe that foldable phones can bring them benefits and a better experience,” said Jusy Hong, an analyst（分析者）at IHS Markit, a market research firm.
