                                                                    Pyramids
    If you go to Egypt, you'll see a lot of pyramids (金字塔). The biggest of all is the Great Pyramid; it is
about 137 meters high and made of 2,300,000 big stones. Each stone weighs about two and a half tons
(吨).The biggest ones even weigh fifteen tons. It took more than 100,000 men twenty years to build it.
Nobody can tell just how the men cut, carried and lifted (举) the huge (巨大) stones without our modern
machines.
    The Egyptian kings (国王) had the pyramids built for them-selves. They thought they had tombs strong
enough to keep their bodies well until they came back to life. But they never thought that about 5,000 years
later their bodies would be on show in museums.

       One night when I was in bed, I got up for some water.  I heard a strange noise.  I lookcd out of my
window and saw a big flying object ! Then I heard a strange sound.  jmped up and  ran to the door.  The
flying object was there and its lights were hiking.
       I watched and Saw a strange door open on one side of the flying object.  There were colorful lights

ran back to see Jim.  It was very funny.  I laughed and the zilien heard me.  He started to walk towards
me.  I said:"Hello,  how are you? " He didn't answer,  but he made that same sound.
       Then, he turned and walked towards the garden.  He picked some flowers for simples totakehome
with him.  He smelled them and sneezed very loud. This woke up my parents andthe neighbors.  
Everyone came to find out what the noise was.  When they saw the alien, theywere a little scared,  
especially the kids.  The alien was hai)py that we were all there to see him. He made some  noise turned
around and walked towards the flying object with the flowers.

       Experts(专家) say that students usually need eight to ten hours' sleep at night,but most Chinese 
students do not get enough sleep. Some Chinese parents are usually glad to see their children studying
 late. They will think their children work very hard. But not all parents are hap- py about this. Once a
