    South Africa’s former president Mandela died of illness on December 5th,2013, and his funeral(葬礼) was held in his hometown on Dec. 15,2013.

    Born on July 18,1918 in a small village in South Africa, Mandela was one of the 13 children of a chief(酋长). Having finished his education, he joined the African National Congress(ANC) in 1943 and later formed the Youth League of the ANC.
