How to Deal with Our Pressure
Everyone may feel disappointed, tired or sad because of difficulties or they are under much pressure. But how can we deal with stress in our life?
Firstly, we should change our mind. We can think about our favorite people or things instead of the troubles. Meanwhile, listening to music, reading or traveling can cheer us up. What’s more, we can ask for help from our parents or teachers and communicate more with our friends.
In my opinion, we should be hopeful about life, do things actively and communicate with others. We just need to wait and our life will be better.

【题目】 Once there was a poor lady who lived on a hill near the sea. She lived a lonely life. She was so poor that she had to work hard every day.
But one night as she sat at the table, the lady said to herself, “Why can’t I do good to others?” At last, she came up with an idea.
She decided to keep a lighted lamp (灯) at the window for the sailors every night. She found that ships sometimes broke up on the rocks in the sea, since there was no lighthouse to warn them of the danger at night. Maybe her lamp would warn them when their ships came near the rocks on the coast.
The lady felt glad when the thought came through her mind. So she worked late and made money to buy the oil for the lamp and then she placed the lamp at the window each night. In this way she saved many lives.
She did this for five years without the hope of reward ( 报酬). However, good acts were often found out. The sailors whose lives had been saved began to send gifts to her. They sent her tea from China, cloth from India, silk from France and grapes from Spain. But the poor lady did not need these gifts to make her happy. She gave many of them to the poor and the sick.

【题目】 As one of the world’s top universities, Oxford attracts students from around the world. Besides needing a perfect academic record. students have to go through a rigorous ( 严 格 的 ) interview process, sometimes across days.
If you’re preparing for studying overseas, here’s our advice for putting your best foot forward.
Questions
You might have heard about the strange questions you might face, such as why are ladybirds red? These questions are not as random (随意的) as they seem and are often related to your course or interests. In truth, there is no wrong way to answer these questions as they are designed to show how your mind approaches problems.
You can’t prepare for these, but you can practice explaining your thoughts aloud about different topics.
Preparation
Most of your interviews will be made up of what you wrote in your application. So make sure you review everything you’ve submitted (提交) as you will be asked about any writers or scientific theories you’ve mentioned. It’s not a good look if you can’t discuss your subject area or struggle to form your own opinions about it.
It’s also OK to say you’re unfamiliar with a question, but always attempt to answer it.
Interviews aren’t everything
Don’t worry about any mistakes you make. Your whole application is more than just a meeting, so take the time to de-stress and visit local sites.
It is also common for students to have an additional interview with another Oxford college if your interviewer is unsure about you. Take it as a second chance.
Overall, think and act as you usually would. Everyone there is gifted, but demonstrating (证明)) how your mind works and how you approach difficult things is how you will stand out.
【1】According to the passage, how can you prepare for the questions in interviews?
A.Search for information about ladybirds.B.Try to solve problems all by yourself.
C.Pay attention to your course or interests.D.Practice explaining your thoughts aloud.
【2】What does the underlined word “additional”mean in the passage?
A.ExtraB.SpecialC.UsualD.Complete
【3】Which of the following statements is TRUE according to the passage?
A.Interviews have something to do with what you wrote in your application.
B.You need to think and act much better than how you behave in your daily life.
C.You will be asked about a writer or scientific theories that you just heard about.
D.You should be careful not to make any mistakes when you are having interviews.

【题目】 Clouds are made of small drops of water or tiny pieces of ice. The water and ice in clouds come from the Earth ’s surface, especially from lakes, rivers, and oceans. Water on the surface is heated. It changes into a gas called water vapor(水蒸气). Water vapor goes up into the air.
The higher up you go,the colder the air gets. When water vapor gets cold,it changes back into drops of water. If it gets cold enough, the water changes to ice. When the drops of water and bits of ice are so small, you see the water and ice in the sky as clouds. Scientists who study weather divide clouds into three families. Three families are called high clouds, middle clouds, and low clouds.
High clouds are made of bits of ice. High clouds can be 5 miles or more above the Earth’s surface. Rain and snow do not fall from these clouds.
Middle clouds are made of drops of water. They form about 2 to 4 miles up in the sky. You can see through them, but you can’ t see the Sun and the Moon clearly because of them.
