Four years ago, 55-year-old Billy Ray Harris was homeless. He lived on a street corner in Kansas City, holding out a cup and asking passers-by for money. But then, one day, his life changed.
On February 9th, a kindhearted woman named Sarah Darling passed Billy Ray. She reached into her purse, took out all the coins she had and dropped them into his cup. Neither of them realized that this small generous act would change their lives.
Sarah didn’t realize that she had given Billy her $4000 diamond ring with all her change until the following morning. She and her husband, Bill Krejci, rushed to see if they could find Billy. To their surprise, the homeless man was not only in the same place, he also returned the ring at once. The grateful couple paid him back for his honesty by emptying out their pockets of all the money they had.
But this was just the beginning of their story. Sarah and her husband, Bill, became friends with Billy Ray. Bill Krejci, a web designer, felt that he needed to do something more for this amazingly honest man. So on February 18th, he set up a special page to raise money for him. In just three months, Billy received over $200,000. That is not enough. Billy is living with a person who is generous instead of living in the streets. And that’s not all—Thanks to the news report, he got together again with his older brother, Edwin Harris who he had been unable to find for 16 years.
All the good luck is just because Billy did the right thing—returning something that did not belong to him.
1.Why did Sarah give her ring to Billy?
A. Because she wanted to help Billy. B. Because it was Billy’s ring.
C. Because she did it by mistake. D. Because she wanted to test Billy.
2.The underlined word “That” in Paragraph 4 refers to “________”.
A. setting up a special page B. receiving money
C. living with a generous person D. returning the diamond ring
3.Where can you probably find this article?
A. In a history book. B. In a magazine.
C. In a guide book. D. In an ad.

Millions of people across China will crowd onto trains and buses next February, hurrying home to be with their families for the country’s most important holidays, Lunar New Year, or the Spring Festival. February 15 marks the end of the Year of the Rooster and the beginning of the Year of the Dog.
History of the Holiday
According to an ancient legend, Buddha(佛祖)asked all the animals to meet him on Lunar New Year. Twelve animals came, and Buddha named a year after each one.
The Year of Good Luck
Buddha announced that people born in each animal’s year would have some of that animal’s personality. If you were born in 1970, 1982, 1994 or 2006, you were born in the year of the Dog. In ancient times, the dog is considered the best symbol for honesty and loyalty(忠诚). People who were born in these years are believed to be honest, brave and filled with good luck and strength. They are said to get along best with people born under the year of the Tiger, Rat or Horse.
Festivals, Lions and Feasts(筵席)
On Lunar New Year’s Eve, the Chinese celebrate with fireworks, family gatherings and festivals. One of the most popular ways to celebrate the holiday is with the lion dance. During celebrations, dancers dressed as lions perform. The dancers are supposed to bring good luck to people. People often wear red. Legend has it that red can drive away bad luck.
The 15-day New Year season is celebrated with firecrackers, dragon dances and visits to friends and family. The celebrations end with the Lantern Festival, when brightly colored lamps are hung in parks around China.
根据短文内容,判断句子正(T)、误(F)。
1.Uncle Li was born in 1970, so his animal zodiac(属相)is Dog.
2.January 1st, 2018 marks the beginning of the Year of the Dog.
3.People who were born in the year of the Tiger are believed to be brave and honest.
4.During the Spring Festival, people wear red in China because they think red can drive away bad luck.
5.People can play firecrackers in the 15-dayNew Year season according to the passage.
