Hughes is a 24-year-old man from the UK. He often wears the same clothes for many days because he doesn’t know how to use a washing machine.
This is not a joke. Hughes is not the only one who doesn’t have basic（基本的）life skills. A study shows that today’s young people in the UK are less able than people before when it comes to basic life skills.
For example, about 35% don’t know how to sew (缝) and 11% don’t understand how to iron (熨烫) clothes.
This problem is shared by young people in the United States as well. Many young men in the US are losing the skill of cooking, and they like to order take-out food .
Technology（科技）may be the main reason for this. Born and raised in a digital age (数字化时代), young people often use phones and computers. For example, with GPS always at hand, young people have no need to learn how to read maps.
However, this does not mean that young men can not do basic everyday tasks. As their lives have changed, the main life skills have changed as well.
The study results show that although only 45% know how to pay their water bills（账单）after leaving home, 72% could help set up a WiFi network in a new house.

The way we spend our time can be divided into three “bottles”. These are the necessary tasks(任务) bottle, the voluntary(自愿的) tasks bottle and the happiness bottle.

It was a time of fun, friendship and music making. At the end of the evening, my happiness bottle was filled to top.
