My favourite great book is The adventure of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. Tom lives with his aunt Polly in a quiet street of St. Petersburg, Missouri. He¡¯s a lively and clever young boy, and he finds himself in many exciting adventures(ðÏÕ). He runs away with his friends, Huck Finn and Joe, to an island in the middle of the Mississippi River for several days. With Huck he goes looking for treasure, with Becky he gets lost in a cave and finally they find a box of gold.

My favourite scene in the book is when everyone thinks Tom is dead. He decides to go to his town funeral. He hides and watches for a time and then suddenly he appears. Everyone is surprised to see him but they¡¯re also pleased to see him alive.

Tom is the hero of the story, but there are another important characters. Huck is an outsider and everyone is afraid of him . Becky is pretty with fair hair, Joe is Tom¡¯s best friend and Injun Joe is the bad man of the story.

The theme of the story is about children growing up. It describes how strangers are seen in small towns of America. Finally, it talks about freedom, social rules and how people are punished(³Í·£)for bad behavior.

Why do I think The Adventure of Tom Sawyer is a great book? Mark Twain wrote the story in 1876, but it¡¯s still read and loved by people all over the world today. And although it¡¯s only a story. Twain wrote it in the everyday English of the southern states of America in the 19thcentury, so it sounds very real. Today it¡¯s thought to be one of the greatest books in American literature. Go on--read it! I know you¡¯ll enjoy it, too.

Maybe you are an average (ÆÕͨµÄ) student. You probably think you will never be a top student (¼â×ÓÉú). However, anyone can become a better student if he or she does his or her best. Here are some tips (¼¼ÇÉ) to help you. Plan your time carefully. You should plan your time for such things as eating, sleeping and dressing. Then make a good, regular time for studying. But don¡¯t forget to set enough time for entertainment(ÓéÀÖ). Keep your study quiet and clean. Thestudyshould have a desk, a chair and some study materials(²ÄÁÏ), but no games, no radio and no television ! When you sit down to study, you can put your heart into it . Make good use of your time. Listen to everything that the teacher says. Listening carefully in class means less work later. Taking notes will help you remember what the teacher says. After you get home from school, go over(¸´Ï°) your notes . Review (¸´Ï°)the important points. If you know what your teacher is going to discuss next day , read the material. It will help you study better. Develop(ÅàÑø) a good attitude (̬¶È) to tests . The purpose(Ä¿µÄ) of a test is to show what you have learned about a subject . It helps you know what you are not good at . The world will still go on even if you fail (²»¼°¸ñ) in a test , so don¡¯t be too worried .

He didn¡¯t enjoy going to school. Einstein finished high school in Switzerland and entered a university in Zurich. He graduated£¨´óѧ±ÏÒµ£©as a teacher of maths and physics in1900.

Scientific Work

After graduation. Einstein worked at the Patent Office. He spent much time studying physics. By 1909, Einstein had become a top scientist. Though he became successful in the field of science, he still put great effort in scientific research. Finally, he won the Nobel Prize for physics in 1921.

Later life

Einstein kept at his research until he died in 1955. Scientists studied his brain(ÄÔ)after his death to see if there was anything special about it. However there was no conclusion(½áÂÛ).

Today, many famous scientists still think Einstein is the smartest man in the world.
