Adam Braun set up the organization Pencils of Promise in2008. Its p1. is to make sure all children can have education. Now the non-profit organization is b2. a new school somewhere every 90 hours. It has helped more than 22,000 children in Africa,Asia and Latin America.

It all started when Adam Braun was a college student. He was visiting India when a boy s3. him and asked for money on the street. Mr. Braun asked the boy w4. he would want, if he could have anything in the world.

¡°I thought the answer was going to be ¡®a house¡¯ or ¡®a car¡¯ or ¡®a boat¡¯. His answer was ¡®a pencil¡¯. So I gave him my pencil and he was just happy and e5.. I realized he had never been to s6. before ,and that was the reality(ÏÖʵ) for 57 million children around the world.¡± Braun said.

Adam Braun started working in finance(½ðÈÚ) after he graduated from college, but he n7. forgot the boy and the problem he realized.

¡°We live in a world in which every child can have a c8. to get a good education, because we have everything necessary already. We are able to educate every child. So I promised to help c9. that world .¡± Braun said.

Mr Braun r10. money for his project. He paid for building the first Pencils of Promise school in Laos five years ago. Since then, his organization has helped pay for more than 200 schools in the countryside of Laos and Ghana.

I had the meanest mother in the whole world. While other kids ate candy for ________ , I had to have cereal, eggs or toast. While others had Cokes and candy for lunch, I had to eat a sandwich. _______ you can guess, my supper was different from the other kids¡¯ too. But at _______ , I wasn¡¯t alone since my sister and two brothers had the same mean(¿Ì±¡µÄ) mother as I did.

My mother knew where we were at all times. She had to know who our friends were and ___________ we were doing. And she always insisted upon us telling the truth. Now you can see how mean she was.

The worst is yet to come. We had to be in _________ by nine each night and up at eight the next morning. We couldn¡¯t sleep ________ noon like our friends. So while they slept, she made us work. We had to wash dishes, make beds, and learn to cook. We had to wear clean clothes and take a bath every day. I believe she lay _______ at night thinking of mean things to do to us.

Through the years, things didn¡¯t __________ a bit. When we didn¡¯t want to _________ school, we could not lie in bed ¡°sick¡± like our friends did. My mother, being as different as she was, would care only about our marks.

Out of four children, a couple of us received higher __________. None of us have ever done ___________ things. Each of my brothers devoted his time to this country. She forced us to grow up into educated and honest adults. I am now trying to raise my three children_________ my mother. I will feel __________ when my children call me mean.

Mother¡¯s love to ____________ can be rather deep, yet this very love must help children grow away from the mother, and to become __________ independent(¶ÀÁ¢µÄ). Now I thank God every day for giving me the meanest mother in the whole world. I¡¯m proud of my mother!

A mouse was surprised to discover that the farmer and his wife had a mousetrap(ÀÏÊó¼Ð)in the house. It felt so frightened that it ran to warn everyone, "There is a mousetrap in the house!" and wanted to get some help from them. The hen raised its head and said, "Mr Mouse, this mousetrap is only for you.
