Many years ago，when I was working as a volunteer in a hospital, I got to know a little girl named Lisa. The poor little girl had a very serious disease and was dying. The doctor had done his best but no medicine really worked. The only chance to save her seemed to be a blood transfusion(输血)from her five-year-old brother. Maria Keller — Teenager Wants Every Kid to Read Indeed!
Books have huge power. Between their pages, readers can be transported to

my task, I have learned that the number of kids who have no books are in the hundreds
of millions. So I just can’t give up, even after reaching my goal of 1 million books.”
She recently set a new goal: to give donations (捐赠) to kids in need in every state
