     We have arrived in the city of Bangkok (曼谷). This is our first trip t6 Thailand (泰国). We are
going to eat something special for dinner to-night. The hotel we are staying in is cheap and very clean.
We plan to stay here for a few days, and then travel to Chiang Mai (清迈).

     Bangkok is wonderful and surprising! The places are interesting. We visited the famous' market
which was on water, and saw a lot of fruits and vegetables. Everything is so colorful, and we have
taken hundreds of photos already! Later today we, will leave for Chiang Mai. We will take the train
north, stay in Chiang Mai for two .days , and then catch a bus to Chiang Mai.

     Our trip to Chiang Mai (清莱) was long We visited a small village. The village people here love
the quiet life no computers or phones. They are the kindest people I have ever met. They always smile
and say "Hello." Kathy and I can only speak a few words of Thai, so smiling is the best way to show
our kindness. I feel good here and hope to be able to come back next year.

     Swimming is very popular in the world. People like swimming in summer, even in the other three
seasons. Because water makes. people feel cool and swimming makes people keep fit.
     If you swim in a wrong place, it may not be safe (安全的). A lot of people died when they were
enjoying  themselves in the water, and most of them were students. Last summer, a few students from
one school went to swim in the river near their school. As a result, three of them never came out of the
river.
     Now people are not careful enough (足够的) in swimming. They often think they can swim so well
that nothing will happen to them in water.
     Summer is here again. If you go swimming in summer,don't forget that a lot of good swimmers have
died in water. They died not because they couldn't, swim, but because of their carelessness (粗心大意).
