【题目】C

Some Facebook users are able to order food and buy tickets on the social media site. The new service was launched in the United States. Facebook designed it as a new way of building bridges between its users and commercial organizations where they live.

This idea is not new. There are many smart phone applications that already let users search, order and buy many different products and services. But Facebook’s service is a little different. It lets users share information about their favorite places and things with family and friends. Facebook says its new tool makes it easier for users to organize their friends’ favorite places and things in one place.

When users write Facebook posts seeking advice on local places or services, they can choose whether or not to turn on the new feature called Recommendations. If a user turns this on, Facebook friends can then comment on those posts and give suggestions. It also allows users to order food and buy tickets. Users can also go directly to a Recommendations bookmark on Facebook to ask a new question or to offer help to their friends. The new service lets people order food directly from the Facebook pages of some restaurants. Users can also purchase tickets to movies, music events or other activities. They can also make appointments for personal services, such as getting a haircut.

Facebook is testing the service in the United States. It plans to offer it to international users in the future. The new service is part of recent efforts by Facebook to expand its offerings and get people to spend more time using the social media app. It announces a new era(时代) to Facebook, which also means a kind of convenience for people.

【1】Why did Facebook design the new service?

A. To improve its competitiveness.

B. To link users with native businesses.

C. To accelerate its development.

D. To satisfy its users’ demands.

【2】How does the Facebook’s new service differ from others?

A. It adds a unique Recommendations feature.

B. The information it provides is far from enough.

C. Its operation is more convenient and human-based.

D. It enables users to share information about their favorites.

【3】What’s mainly talked about in Paragraph 3?

A. The advantages of Recommendations.

B. The characteristics of Recommendations.

C. Things users can do on Recommendations.

D. The way of turning on Recommendations.

【4】What does the author say about the new service in the last paragraph?

A. It aims at attracting more new users.

B. It has gained widespread popularity.

C. It has greatly enriched people’s lives.

D. Its application has geographical limitation.

【题目】根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。

For most parents and other caregivers, summer is by far the best season to connect kids with nature. The weather’s nice, and the youngsters are out of school. 1 So don’t miss the opportunity to schedule some outdoor time. Here are a few tips to help you along the way:

Nature is all around us. 2 For small kids, there’s likely plenty in the backyard, courtyard, or schoolyard. National parks are great, but kids foster a deep connection with nature close to home!

3 Don’t worry too much about what to do once you arrive at your nature-rich destination. What kids really need is free time to engage all their senses and use their imaginations.

You can learn too. What counts is simply to get out there, show that you value the outdoors, and be ready to have fun. 4 In fact, it is not necessary for you to know anything at all about science or nature. And remember, questions are more powerful than answers anyway!

Sit back and watch your kids learn. Don’t be too much of a helicopter parent, always saying "no". Instead, try to spare more time to stay with your kids when necessary.

5 And let kids take some risks. Most of us climbed trees, played with sticks, and got muddy as kids and we lived to tell the story. The nature connection is a contact sport, and both kids and nature can take it!

No matter the weather or time of day you can have anadventure together with your kids. Alright, get those kids outside, into nature, making their own discoveries!

A. It’s okay not to have a plan.

B. Allow your kids to be kids.

C. Pay close attention to your kids.

D. Parents often take time off as well.

E. You don’t need to be an expert on nature.

F. You typically don’t have to go far to find nature.

G. Sometimes it is necessary to turn to experts for advice.
