I used to be the messiest person alive£®Over the years, through watching others and by trial and error, I have finally found ways to come up with plans, organize them and follow through with them£®
Make an outline of everything you need to have and do to make your plan happen£®Make a list of all of the steps that need to be accomplished and think about what needs to be done£®
Detail everything thoroughly and read over it so you can start coming up with some mental solutions of how to carry out your plans£®
You should ensure that if for some reason way one doesn¡¯t work, you have way two and way three to lean back on£®Therefore, different ways are needed at hand£®It¡¯s just a matter of being organized£®Chances are that there is always more than one way of doing things, and chances are that if one of those ways doesn¡¯t work, one of the other ones will£®
Committing yourself to finishing at least part if not all of your plan at once is also necessary£®It will show that you not only have initiative to get things rolling, but that you are interested in the results obtained with making the move to get everything done£®
If you make a commitment to finish before a specific time, make sure that you carry that out, and be sure to do everything in the way you said you would, within the time-frame you set for yourself£®
Don¡¯t try to tackle more things all at a time£®All that does is delay your progress, distract you and make you lose your interest, motivation and energy£®
Carrying out an effective plan requires being as organized as possible£®You will only achieve this by sticking to the order of the plan and not deviating or trying to do more at a time£®
Last but not least, you should never abandon things mid-project£®It will only annoy everyone around you including yourself£®Unfinished plans are a waste of time, energy and, in some cases, even money£®
So, don¡¯t be afraid of organization£®The older we get, the more necessary it becomes to have the skills to follow through with confidence and to be able to carry through plans in an organized and manageable way£®It pays to be organized, after all£®

Age has its privileges in America, and one of the more prominent of them is the senior citizen discount. Anyone who has reached a certain age ¡ª in some cases as low as 55 ¡ª is automatically entitled to dazzling array of price reductions at nearly every level of commercial life. Eligibility is determined not by one¡¯s need but by the date on one¡¯s birth certificate. Practically unheard of a generation ago, the discounts have become a routine part of many businesses ¡ª as common as color televisions in motel rooms and free coffee on airliners.
People with gray hair often are given the discounts without even asking for them; yet, millions of Americans above age 60 are healthy and solvent(ÓÐÖ§¸¶ÄÜÁ¦µÄ). Businesses that would never dare offer discounts to college students or anyone under 30 freely offer them to older Americans. The practice is acceptable because of the widespread belief that ¡°elderly¡± and ¡°needy¡± are synonymous (ͬÒåµÄ). Perhaps that once was true, but today elderly Americans as a group have a lower poverty rate than the rest of the population. To be sure, there is economic diversity within the elderly, and many older Americans are poor. But most of them aren¡¯t.
It is impossible to determine the impact of the discounts on individual companies. For many firms, they are a stimulus to revenue. But in other cases the discounts are given at the expense, directly or indirectly, of younger Americans. Moreover, they are a direct irritant in what some politicians and scholars see as a coming conflict between the generations.
Generational tensions are being fueled by continuing debate over Social Security benefits, which mostly involve a transfer of resources from the young to the old. Employment is another sore point. Buoyed (Ö§³Ö) by laws and court decisions, more and more older Americans are declining the retirement dinner in favor of staying on the job ¡ª thereby lessening employment and promotion opportunities for younger workers.
Far from a kind of charity they once were, senior citizen discounts have become a formidable economic privilege to a group with millions of members who don¡¯t need them.
It no longer makes sense to treat the elderly as a single group whose economic needs deserve priority over those of others. Senior citizen discounts only enhance the myth that older people can¡¯t take care of themselves and need special treatment; and they threaten the creation of a new myth, that the elderly are ungrateful and taking for themselves at the expense of children and other age groups. Senior citizen discounts are the essence of the very thing older Americans are fighting against ¡ª discrimination by age.
Outline | Details |
Introduction | Age determines whether an American can be given a discount, which is a common ¡¾1¡¿________________in American business life today. |
Origin of senior citizen discount | ¡ñSince the senior citizens are often treated as people who are in ¡¾2¡¿____________, they are given such priority. |
¡¾3¡¿__________ situation | ¡ñThe situation has changed a lot where the majority of the elderly are not poor at all. ¡ñYounger Americans were at a/an ¡¾4¡¿__________ directly or indirectly due to the discounts given to the elderly, thus leading to conflicts between generations. ¡ñThe number of older Americans ¡¾5¡¿___________ to work rather than retire is on the increase, which means ¡¾6¡¿__________ opportunities for young workers. ¡ñIt is no longer a kind of charity because millions of senior citizens don¡¯t need the priority ¡¾7¡¿__________. |
Conclusion | It¡¯s unwise to offer discount priority to the elderly. ¡ñIt will mislead people to think they are unable to ¡¾8¡¿_____________ to themselves. ¡ñPeople may think that they are ungrateful and they¡¯re hurting the ¡¾9¡¿_____________ of other age groups. ¡ñActually senior citizen discounts, to some extent, ¡¾10¡¿___________against their age. |

More and more foreigners like to come to China. Last Friday our school was invited a foreign teacher in our city give a class to the students of Senior Grade Two. We found his class interested. I learned a lot from him. The teacher had a free talk to us with easy English. He spoke slow so that we could understand him well. Sometimes he repeated what we don¡¯t understand. My classmates were all active in the class. To his joy, I understood everything the teacher said. And I was able to ask question in English. This class encouraged me very much. I¡¯m sure that until we keep on practicing, it will be easy for us to learn speaking English well.
