第二节读写任务 (共1小题, 满分25分)
阅读下面的短文, 然后按要求写一篇150词左右的英语短文.
Students should concentrate on their lessons and not be distracted by housework chores, farm labour, and other daily manual work. The reason is obvious. Students are trained to be future builders of this country with knowledge and skills. They are not trained to be manual workers. Knowledge and skills are what they need. It never matters if they always leave their rooms in a mess. Their parents never fail to clean up and pick up after them. Nor does it matter if the school kids can never carry a bag of flour or something like that. Leave it to those less educated. Nor does it matter if the kids never wash their clothes. Leave it to the laundry. In a word, it does not matter if the kids can not and will not do any chores and manual work. As long as they set their minds to their lessons, everything else will take care of themselves.

Students should do chores and manual work
Some people think students do not have to do chores and manual work. They think students are trained to be knowledgeable professionals and skilled worked instead of manual workers, so they only have to concentrate on their students.
This opinion is unacceptable.
Students have to do chores and manual work before they can develop into physically and mentally able citizens. Only in this way can they be talents of high quality in the future. Take me for example, at 10, I began to work in the fields with my parents. Working in the open air makes me physically strong and mentally refreshed, leaving me in a better condition to study. My parents encourage me to help them around the house and in the fields. They believe that the mixture of mental work and manual work makes a useful person. I am grateful to them as I have developed a strong body and an active mind.

Why is it that we tend to value relationships more once they've ended? Is it simply human nature to take for granted the smile of someone close,the friendship of a relative,the concern of a neighbor? In the moment,we think that these people will be around forever.
Most of us never stop to imagine all those who have a profound impact on our lives. It’s so easy to justify this casual attitude by saying we are too busy, too tired,too involved with work,too concerned about money,and the list of excuses goes on and on. So enjoying a friendship may be put off for one day, and then another. Before long, feelings have faded,and there is less incentive to get together. Almost relegated to a chore now,precious moments become something to endure.  
Usually, something dramatic must happen to change this apathy and pull one out of a rut. Perhaps it’s something shocking,like a death,a divorce,sudden illness,an accident — something stunning to force taking notice.Then comes the guilt,the re-assessment of feelings,the sadness of loss.
We long to have those precious moments once again,to share and express our feelings. Instead of waiting for an excuse,why not get out of the rut,take the initiative,and spend quality time with the people you value. Let them know how really important they are.

Teenagers’ secrets should be kept to themselves and no one else ,their parents included, has the right to stick their nose into their private life. As we know, teenagers are going through a special period of development both physically and psychologically. They are curious about and puzzled by the unexpected changes in their body and mind. What’s more, exposed to a world of adults, it is only too natural for them to begin imitating (模仿) adults’ behaviors in secret. Boys begin to smoke and girls begin to spend time doing their hair. Some even begin to date with a girlfriend or boyfriend without their parents’ knowledge. They are doing al this in secret because they are still unsure whether it is right to do so and afraid that ,if found out by their parent, they will get misunderstood and even punished. And in fact, in many cases, the parents can not deal with the matter well and hurt their children’s feelings badly, making children no longer willing to communicate with their parents. When this happens, it hurts terribly the whole family feeling. So it seems right that teenagers should keep their secrets to themselves and their parents should allow their children that right.
