Dear Mr. Li,

I’m Li Hua from Class 1 Senior Grade 1. I read the notice that the school newspaper is looking for an English writer and you are in charge of this case. I wonder if I am qualified with the position. Please allow me to give you a brief self-introduction.

I am interested in English and I am one of the top students in my class. Besides, I took part in the English speech competition held by the local TV station last term and I won the first place. This is really inspiring! Since then I have been studying English harder. I insist on reading English newspaper and magazines every day. Now I can fluently communicate with native speakers in English. Of course, writing English articles for the school newspaper is a precious chance for me to practice English. So I am eager to get it.
