8.I'm not so sure I like my friends any more.I used to like them-to be honest.We'd have lunch,talk on the phone or exchange emails,and they all seemed normal enough.But then came FaceBook,and I was introduced to a sad fact:many of my friends have dark sides that they had kept from me.
Today my friends show off the more unpleasant aspects of their personalities via FaceBook.No longer hidden,they're thrown in my face like TV commercials-unavoidable and endless advertisements for the worst of their personalities.
Take Fred.If you were to have lunch with him,you'd find him warm,and self-effacing(谦逊的).Read his FaceBook and you'll realize he's an unbearable,food-obsessed boring man.He'd pause to have a cup of coffee on his way to save a drowning man-and then write about it.
Take Andy.You won't find a smarter CEO anywhere,but now he's a CEO without a company to run.So he plays Mafia Wars on FaceBook.He's doing well-level 731.Thanks to FaceBook,I know he's playing about 18hours a day.Andy,you've run four companies-and this is how you spend your downtime?What happened to golf?What happened to getting another job?
Take Liz.She is positive that the flu vaccine will kill us all and that we should avoid it.And then comes Chris who likes to post at least 20times a day on every website he can find,so I get to read his thoughts twice,once on FaceBook and once on Twitter.
In real life,I don't see these sides of people.Face to face,my friends show me their best.They're nice,smart people.But face to FaceBook,my friends are like a blind date which goes horribly wrong.
I'm left with a dilemma.Who is my real friend? Is it the Liz I have lunch with or the anti-vaccine madman on FaceBook?Is it the Fred I can grab a sandwich with or the Fred who weeps if he's at a party and the wine isn't up to his standards?

18.As the new semester begins,millions of college students across the country are trying hard to remember how best to write a paper or,more likely,how best to delay that paper.
Procrastination is the thief of time and a lot of students suffer from it.They can spend whole days in the library doing nothing but staring into space,eating snacks,surfing the Internet,watching videos and looking at other students sitting around them,who,most likely,are doing nothing either.
Paralyzed (使失去活力) by their habit to procrastinate,they write micro blogs about their fears,asking their online friends if they sometimes have the same issue.But this does nothing to break the spell (魔咒).
According to a recent report,95percent of us procrastinate at some point and 20percent of the world's population are always procrastinating.The figures are disappointing.Procrastinators are less wealthy,less healthy and less happy than those who don't delay.Procrastinators like to find excuses to justify their behavior,but BBC columnist Rowan Pelling says they are all wrong.
Many procrastinators tell themselves they are perfectionists who work best under pressure.Pelling says this is nonsense,as work done at the last minute is more likely to have mistakes than work done on time.The behavior of procrastinators often makes them feel ashamed,inconveniences others and annoys loved ones.
Pelling also points out that procrastination feels particularly delinquent (过失的)in a society that thinks of speedy action as admirable, and,at times, even as a moral good.
Fortunately,social scientists have thrown their weight behind efforts to understand this behavioral mistake and offer strategies to control it.Piers Steel,a Canadian social scientist and author of The Procrastination Equation,believes human is"designed"to procrastinate.Nevertheless,he suggests a couple of good ways to get through the task at hand.

69.From the first two paragraphs we can learn thatD.
A.procrastination is beneficial to many students

C.lots of college students work hard to write good essays on time
D.many students have the habit of delaying finishing their tasks
70.Which behavior belongs to procrastination?D
A.Never dream away the time.
B.Always complete the tasks ahead of time.
C.Never put off till tomorrow what should be done today.
D.Always wait to work until the"good mood"or"good time".
71.According to the passage,which of the following statements is not true?B
A.Procrastination makes people waste their time.
B.Procrastinators usually complete their tasks perfectly.
C.Speedy action is considered as a moral standard in the society.
D.Procrastination is common among people.
72.What is most likely to be discussed in the paragraph that follows?A
A.Measures to deal with procrastination.

2.There is no second chance…there is no chance of making mistakes."
That's why Dr.Omer Mei-Dan and others who enjoyed base-jumping and wingsuit(翼装) flying were sad but not surprised by the recent deaths of three extreme sports enthusiasts.
Mark Sutton, the English parachutist(跳伞者),died on August 14 in Switzerland when he flew into a rocky ridge(山脊) in a wingsuit. Not even a week afterward,Mario Richard,a Canadian base-jumper,died in Italy during a wingsuit flight, when he"apparently failed to clear a rock by three meters."And most recently,Hungarian wingsuit flyer Victor Kovats died in Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park in Zhangjiajie on Oct.9 during a practice flight ahead of the World Championships.
According to Mei-Dan,six to seven percent of the 3,000 or so base-jumpers who use wingsuits or parachutes die each year-a huge number when you consider the most dangerous job in America, logging which has an annual death rate well under one percent of the workers.
Base-jumpers and wingsuit flyers are experienced. They have hundreds of practice before trying to fly from buildings, cliffs and towers. The same goes for those who drop from helicopters above mountains and valleys and then use their wingsuits to try to whiz by(飞速掠过) as close as possible to the rocks and ridges below.
Among the dangers, said Mei-Dan,is the temptation to"push the envelope":To try to get close to a rock wall, for example, than anyone else."When you push the envelope and you can not have any error at all,or you have to pay for it with your life."
So why do it?The experience of flying toward the ground in a wingsuit is almost indescribable."It's something that you really have to try to understand-what type of feeling you get when you're free falling next to a cliff,"Mei-Dan said.

A.They thought the deaths could have been avoided.
B.They felt the need of reconsidering the safety of wingsuit flying.
C.They were sad and were in deep sorrow.
D.They felt sad but did not find the deaths surprising.
43.What does the third paragraph tell us?A
A.How the three wingsuit flyers died
B.Why wingsuit flying is so dangerous.
C.Where wingsuit flying is most dangerous
D.What a wingsuit flyer's career is like.
44.What does the underlined phrase"push the envelope"mean?D
A.To attempt to push further in a wingsuit.
B.To risk moving the envelope away.
C.To be determined to give up on oneself.
D.To try to go beyond the normal limits of something.
45.The extreme sports enthusiasts like wingsuit flying because theyC.
