How to Write Product Descriptions Like a Professional

Whenever you sell any type of product, you have to convince someone why they should make a purchase. 1 You can hire a product description writing service or you can deal with it yourself We believe writing a convincing copy is the key. Here's how to write product descriptions like a professional.

●Read the Best Copy

You can't write a description until you know how experts are doing it. 2 Using Amazon is an ideal method to find the best-sellers in your category. If they've reached the list of best-sellers they're doing something right

3

Normally, the specifications provided by the producer give you the bare facts about the product and nothing else.4Ask the producer to talk to you about their product. Get the facts from a human and you'll discover the heart behind the product. This is what you need to present to potential customers.

●Cut Down

5 It doesn't matter if you produce a long story about how smooth the materials are or how the product is created in detail. It's always easier to cut everything down. Of course it always takes practice to get this right.

Writing a persuasive product description requires a lot of time and effort. Multiple drafts are often needed to find the best words for the job.

A. Consult the producer

B. Begin the first draft carefully

C .There's no soul to these statistics

D. Speak to someone you trust about your ideas

E. Look at your chosen field and find the best-sellers

F. Don't write a 50-word product description immediately

【解析】本文是一篇说明文,主要提供了如何写专业的产品介绍的几条建议。

1根据本空前的“you sell any type of product, you have to convince someone why they should make a purchase.”可知,此处承接上文,说的是如果你想要说服别人购买你的产品,你首先要准备好产品介绍,故G项符合语境。

2根据本空后的“Using Amazon is an ideal method to find the best-sellers in your category.”可知,此处是说看看你所选的领域,找到畅销书,E项中的best-sellers与后面的best-sellers相对应,故E项符合语境。

3根据本段内容,特别是“Normally, the specifications provided by the producer give you the bare facts about the product and nothing else.”可知,本段告诉我们要请教生产商,故A项符合语境。

4根据本空前的“Normally, the specifications provided by the producer give you the bare facts about the product and nothing else.”可知,此处承接上文,C项中的 these statistics指代的就是前面的bare facts,故C项符合语境。

5根据本空后的“It doesn't matter if you produce a long story about how smooth the materials are or how the product is created in detail. ”可知,此处是说不要把产品介绍写得过短,故F项符合语境。

People who smoke could lose around one third of their everyday memory, researchers say.
A study by a team at the University of Northumbria has shown that smokers lose more of their memory when compared to non-smokers. And the research also found that those who kicked the habit saw their ability to recollect information restored to almost the same level as non-smokers.
The study involved more than seventy 18-to 25-year-old volunteers and included a tour of the university's campus. Those who took part were asked to recall(回忆;回想)small details, such as music acts listed to play at the students' union and tasks completed at various points---known as a real-world memory test.
Smokers performed badly, remembering just 59 percent of tasks. But those who had given up smoking remembered 74 percent and those who had never smoked recalled 81 percent of tasks.
Dr. Tom Heffernan, who leads Northumbria University's Collaboration for Drug and Alcohol Research Group, said the findings would be useful in anti-smoking campaigns. He said, “Given that there are up to 10 million smokers in the UK and as many as 45 million in America, it's important to understand the effects that smoking has on everyday cognitive function.”
This is the first time that a study has set out to examine whether giving up smoking has an effect on memory. We already know that giving up smoking has huge health benefits to the body, but this study also shows how stopping smoking can bring a series of benefits to cognitive function. The research will now investigate the effects of second-hand smoking on memory, while Dr. Heffernan will look into third-hand smoking, such as toxins (毒素) left on curtains and furniture.

(4)We can learn from the passage that ___________.
A.America has twice as many smokers as the UK
B.the research findings will help anti-smoking campaigns
C.the effects of second-hand smoking on memory have been found by the study

Disposing (处理) of waste has been a problem since humans started producing it. As more and more people choose to live close together in cities, the waste disposal problem becomes increasingly difficult.
During the eighteenth century,it was usual for several neighboring towns to get together to select a faraway spot as a dump site. People would transport household rubbish, rotted wood and old possessions to the site. Regularly some of the trash was burned and the rest was buried. The unpleasant sights and smells caused no problem because nobody lived close by. Factories and some other industrial sites also had waste to be disposed of. Those located on rivers often just poured the unwanted remains into the water. Others built huge burners with chimneys to deal with the problem.
Several facts make these choices unacceptable to modern society. The first problem is space. Dumps(垃圾场), are most needed in heavily populated areas. Such areas rarely have empty land suitable. Farm areas are refusing to accept rubbish from elsewhere, cheap land in major city areas to dispose wastes is nonexistent(不存在的). Awareness of pollution dangers has resulted in more strict rules of waste disposal. Pollution of rivers, ground water, land and air is a price people can no longer pay to get rid of waste. The amount of waste, however, continues to grow.
Recycling efforts have become commonplace, and many towns require their people to take part. Even the most efficient recycling programs, however, can hope to deal with only about 50 percent of a city's reusable waste,so more people should be involved in recycling programs.
(1)The most suitable title for this passage would be .
A.Places for Disposing of Waste
B.Waste Pollution Dangers
C.Ways of Getting Rid of Waste
D.Waste Disposal Problem
(2)During the 18th century, people disposed of waste in many ways except for .
A.burying it
B.recycling it
C.burning it
D.throwing it into rivers
(3)What can be inferred(推断)from the third paragraph?
A.Farm areas will continue accepting waste from the city.
B.There is cheap land to bury waste in modern society.
C.It is difficult to find space to bury waste in modern society.
D.Ways to deal with waste in modern society stay the same.
(4)The main purpose of writing this article is to .
A.select a suitable dump site
B.warn people of the pollution dangers
C.call on people to take part in recycling programs
D.tell people a better way to get rid of the waste

Andy never wanted to go to bed on time. His parents had explained to him how important it was to go to bed early and get a good rest. But Andy paid no attention to them, and they didn't know what to do until one weekend when they were visiting Andy's grandparents.
Grandpa Peter heard all about it and said, "This sounds like a job for Tubby." So Andy's parents loaded the cat onto the car and returned home.
That night, at bedtime, the same problem happened. Andy didn't want to go to bed, and even though his parents waited a while to see if Tubby would solve the problem, nothing happened.
Hours later, Andy finally decided to go to bed. But what a surprise when he entered his bedroom! Tubby was in his bed, totally sprawling out, pot-belly in the air, and snoring like an express train.
Andy tried to move the cat, but there was no way of moving him an inch. That night he hardly slept, lying on one tiny corner of his bed.
The next day the same thing happened, even though Andy was much more tired from not having slept well. When the third day arrived, he had understood that if he wanted to sleep in his bed, he would have to get into it before Tubby did. That night, when his parents only started to mention the topic of bedtime, Andy rushed upstairs and dived into bed. His parents could not believe it. They knew nothing about Tubby in the bed, nor did they understand why Andy went to bed on time without complaint. They were so happy about this that they stayed up quite late, celebrating.
