Cheating on exams is popular in colleges and statistics show that it has risen dramatically during the past score years. Students don’t feel ashamed to cheat on exams. Most of them don’t care about cheating on exams.
Cheating on exams takes shape in various ways. Some students scribbled notes on small pieces of paper on which they had prepared for the exam, some took out their textbooks or reference books to copy, and still some adopted mobile phones as a way to cheat on exams. For instance, at the University of Nevada, students photographed test questions with their cell phone cameras, then sent them to classmates outside the exam room and got the answers back in text message. However, downloading other people’s writing on the Internet for plagiarism(剽窃) was found the easiest way.
Mr. Dapremont said technology had made cheating easier, but added that pressure to succeed sometimes clouded everything and made students do things that they shouldn’t do. Students today feel more pressure to do well in order to graduate from school and land jobs.
Whatever the reasons for cheating are, college officials say we must stop it. First, people will not be interested in studying any more with cheating. Second, they think studying isn’t meaningful. Third, others may be influenced negatively by people cheating on exams. Thus, we must ban cheating on exams. We should reduce opportunity of cheating on exams.
Most Americans still believe that honesty is an important part of American character. For that reason, there are numerous watchdog committees at all levels of society. Although signs of dishonesty in school, business, and government seem much more numerous in recent years than in the past, could it be that we are getting better at uncovering such dishonesty?
Many educators feel that as students gain confidence in themselves and their abilities, they are less likely to cheat.

STRANGERS parties go wild these days. The main idea of them is to never let the people know who their matches are until the last minute. These are some popular practices that are storming the world’s youth on this V-day.
Speed dating
It’s exactly what the name implies. Complete with a timer, a whistle and 50 willing singles, speed dating is not the traditional dinner and a movie type of first date. Singles pay US $35 for three minutes with more than two dozen future dates. They ask questions and try to get to know each other. At the sound of a whistle, they do the same thing all over again―25 times in all.
Lock and key party
Women are given a lock and men are given a key, upon arriving at the party. Each key and lock has several matches. One can hunt for his/her later-to-be sweetheart in various groups, and try out the key or lock. Each time a lock and key match the pair are entered into a ballot (票数) for top prizes!
Dinner in the dark
Waiters wearing night vision glasses guide the guests through the pitch-black dining room. They are seated at the table and familiarized with the wine glass and plate. Food is handled with the fingers. People will not see the food they are eating or the guests at their table until the dessert course. At that moment, dining partners will appear.
Message party
Have A Cocktail, Leave A Message! When you arrive, you get a tag with a number and a pad of post-it notes. If you see someone you like, write a message on the message board. But wait… You’ve got a message… Go and collect it! You can make new friends and win lots of gifts. The more messages you leave on the bulletin board, the more chances you have of winning prizes.

Ants have a reputation for strength, organization and teamwork. But researchers have now discovered that a key secret to the success of ants is their ability to identify the importance of age in the work place.
A study of Gentral American leaf-cutter ants has shown that the younger and stronger members are give the toughest job of cutting therough the leaves they harvest.Their sharp youn teeth do this job effectively, but as they get older their teeth become relatively worn and blunt.
But rather than being retired or abandoned by the group, the ageing ants are given a new role more suyted to their physical abilities. They become carriers and teansport the leaves back to the kingdom where they are harvested for food.
The findings by researchers from the University of Oregon and the Oregong State University support previous research showin the survival of a leaf-cutter kingdom depends on the efficiency(效率)of is workers.
“Cuting leaves is hard work,”said Dr.Robert Schofield, who led the research team.“Much of the cutting is done with a V-shaped blade(刀片)between teeth on their jaws. This blade starts out as sharp as the sharpest razor blade that humans have developed.”But over rime the teeth become blunter and the cutting job slows down. The team estimated that, because of this age-related wear,a colony(蚁群)spent twice the energy cutting leaves than it would if all the ants had sharp blades. Its findings support the idea that wear and break can be significant problems for insects as well as largre animals.
Like humans,leaf-cuttre ant recognize that older members of the group can still make a worhwhile contribution to society.“This study shows an advantage of social living that we are familiar with,”said Dr.Schofield.
