One day a lawyer’s wife fell ill, and he went to get a doctor. The doctor willingly came to see the woman and to do what he could for her, but before he went into the house, he made a short stop. Former National Football League player and children’s author Tim Green has added another book to his list of accomplishments: Unstoppable. The book tells the story of a 12-year –old boy named Harrison, who survives life in a cruel foster home before he finally finds a loving family. Once he settles in and realizes his natural football ability, tragedy strikes again and he loses his leg to a deadly bone cancer. Unstoppable follows Harrison’s incredible journey as he faces many challenges in his life.
Tim Green says he decided to write a novel about a kid facing cancer after watching how his wife fought to survive her own illness. “Her mental and physical toughness were more heroic to me than anything I’d ever seen in the national sports leagues,” Green told TFK Kid Reporter Zachary J. Lewis.
After watching his wife’s battle, Green said, he knew he needed to write about a person who struggled through a serious illness. But because the target age for his books is teen, he needed to tell the story through the eyes of someone that age.
When friends introduced Green to Jeffrey Keith, Green knew he had found the right person to help him“ capture the heroism that it takes to fight cancer”. Cancer-survivor Jeffrey Keith lost his leg to disease at age twelve, but went on to be the goalie （守门员）for the Boston College Division 1 Lacrosse（长曲棍球）Team and was also the first amputee to run 3,300 miles across the country. When Green heard Jeffrey Keith’s story, he knew it was the perfect narrative on which to base his next book.
TFK asked Keith what it felt like to read Unstoppable for the first time. “Tim captured what it felt like for me to go through this experience and battle back,” Keith said. “After I read the book, Tim asked me to describe it in one word, and I said ‘awesome’. Tim’s work sends a message to all the kids across the country that are facing obstacles that can have nothing to do with cancer: you are all unstoppable, as long as you believe it.”

She may have lacked a home, but now this teen has top honors.
A 17-year old student who spent much of high school living around homeless shelters and sometimes sleeping in her car-today graduated and spoke on behalf of her class at Charles Drew High School in Clayton County, Ga.，just outside of Atlanta.
Chelsea Fearce, who held a 4.466 GPA and scored 1，900 on her SATs despite having to use her cellphone to study after the shelter lights were turned off at night.
"I know I have been made stronger. I was homeless. My family slept on cushions on the floor and we were lucky if we got more than one full meal a day. Getting a shower, food and clean clothes was an everyday struggle,” Fearce said in a speech she gave at her graduation ceremony. Fearce overcame her day-to-day struggles by focusing on a better day. Fearce，one of five children, grew up in a family that sometimes had an apartment to live in, but at other times had to live in homeless shelters or even out of their car, if they had one. "You're worried about your home life and then worried at school. Worry about being a little hungry sometimes and go hungry sometimes. You just have to deal with it, You eat what you can, when you can.”
To our surprise, Fearce overcame the difficulties and even tested high enough to be ad- mitted into college halfway through her high school career. More than the weight of the jacket had been lifted from my shoulders.
We’re all human, which means that sometimes we do things we shouldn’t do or say things we shouldn’t say. Sometimes we realize too late that our actions have been hurtful to somebody else. When these hard times occur, the best response --- the only response, really --- is, “I’m sorry.”
Admitting a wrongdoing, as soon as possible and frankly, helps the other person begin to heal. But just as important, it cleans up our own soul and sets us free.
That is a small price to pay for a clear conscience.

This week Faith Lapidus and Doug Johnson will tell you about Chuck Berry．Chuck Berry，born on October 18，1926，is often called the father of rock and roll．He is one of the most popular and influential performers of rhythm－and－blues and rock‘n’roll music during the 1950s，1960s and 1970s．
He started singing in church when he was six years old．His interest in music stuck with him．A lot of Chuck Berry’s material is about teenage life，especially school．Chuck Berry left school when he was 17．He headed west with two friends，but they did not get far．They were arrested after they used a gun to steal a car in Kansas City，Missouri．He was set free after four years.
Chuck Berry signed his first recording contract in 1955，with the company Chess Records．Because one of his early hits，“Rock＆Roll Music”，hit big in the United States then，which was greeted with enthusiastic reviews．Many other famous bands copied it again and again．
Filmmaker Taylor Hackford made a documentary called“Hail! Hail! Rock‘n’Roll”, named for a Chuck Berry song．It centered on the making of a concert to honor the musician on his 60th birthday in 1986．Guitarist Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones organized the concert．Listening to Chuck Berry songs got him interested in music．In Keith Richards’words，“I didn’t dream I could make a living at it but that’s what I wanted to do．”More than 75 artists and bands have done their own versions of Chuck Berry songs．
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland，Ohio，included Chuck Berry in its first year of honors in 1986．The Hall of Fame had this to say：“While no individual can be said to have invented rock and roll，Chuck Berry comes the closest of any single figure to being the one who put all the essential pieces together．”
