15.[1]A life of overdrinking, tiredness and laziness may be enough to earn your doctor's disapproval, but there is one last hope:a repeat prescription of mates and good conversation.A circle of close friends and strong family ties can improve a person's health more than exercise, losing weight or quitting cigarettes and alcohol, psychologists say.
[2]Sociable people seem ________________ from their relationships by feeling less stressed, taking better care of themselves and having less risky lifestyles than those who are much lonelier, they claim.A review of studies into the impact of relationships on health found that people had a 50% better survival rate if they belonged to a wider social group no matter it was friends, neighbors, relatives or a mix of these.
[3]The striking impact of social connections on health has led researchers to call on health officials to take loneliness as seriously as other health risks, such as alcoholism and smoking."We take relationships for granted as humans,"said Julianne Holt-Lunstad,a psychologist at Brigham Young University in Utah."That constant interaction is not only beneficial psychologically but directly to our physical health."
[4]Holt-Lunstad's team reviewed 148 studies that tracked the social interactions and health of 308,849 people over an average of 7.5 years.Holt-Lunstad said friends and family can improve health in a great many ways, from help in tough times to finding meaning in life. When someone is connected to a group and feels responsibility to other people, that sense of purpose and meaning translates to taking better care of themselves and taking fewer risks.Holt-Lunstad said there was no clear figure on how many relationships are enough to improve a person's health, but people did enjoy better health when they rarely felt lonely and were close to a group of friends, had good family contact and had someone they could rely on.

20.It is essential to our children's development that they are provided with life skills. It is of great importance that our children should be taught basic life skill lessons in order to live the life they dream of as they enter adulthood.
How we teach youth life skills is the focus of this article. We will explore and share life skill lessons with you so that the time you spend with each child is more productive and moves them to take positive action.
What should be included in a youth life skills program?
1)Financial literacy(理财素养).Financial literacy training can improve every aspect of a child's life.Studies show that people that have developed financial literacy skills are healthier, have better relationships, and have more confidence.Financial literacy training is the foundation which all the other youth life skills can build on and support.
2)Relationships.Children need to understand the importance of encouraging relationships and develop the skills to maintain positive relationships. One key part of developing positive relationships is the ability to communicate effectively. This is a life skill that will not only benefit (使受益)their friendships but will help them in their careers as well.
3)Strengths development. It is important for adults to focus on the strengths of their children and help them to take their strengths to the next level. For most, what we are good at is also what we enjoy doing.Make your youth life skill program one that helps them follow their passions and build upon the strengths they have developed while growing up.
The focus of youth skills programs is recognizing students'potential and providing them with the proper tools to enable them to develop their skill sets. You are helping to open up windows of opportunity for them and encouraging them throughout the process by making them feel worthy.
The goal of youth life skill programs is to help our children grow into responsible adults.Children cannot grow into the wonderful human beings they are meant to be when they are shut down, turned away and ignored. They need the proper guidance that will enable them to feel proud of their achievements. They also need the opportunity to express themselves in an environment that is willing to listen to them and to help them as well. There is only so much they can stand on their own; the rest is up to the adults that play important roles in their lives.
1.What is important for children to learn according to the article?Life skill lessons.
2.Who do you think the article is written to,students or teachers?Teachers.
3.What can children benefit from financial literacy skills?Good health, better relationships and more confidence.

7.Sleepless in Seattle?Hardly.West Virginia is where people are really staying awake, according to the first government study to monitor state-by-state differences in sleeplessness.West Virginians'lack of sleep was about double the national rate, perhaps a side effect of health problems such as obesity(肥胖),experts said.
Nearly 1 in 5 West Virginians said they did not get a single good night's sleep in the previous month. The national average was about 1 in 10,according to a federal health survey.Tennessee,Kentucky and Oklahoma also were notably above average with nearly 1 in 7 people reporting in a lack of sleep. In contrast,North Dakota was below average, with only 1 in 13 reporting that degree of sleeplessness.Health officials do not know the exact reasons for the differences.
In the survey, people weren't required to answer the question why they were not able to get enough rest or sleep. But experts noted several possible explanations:West Virginia ranks at or near the bottom of the nation in several important measurements of health, including obesity, smoking, heart disease and the proportion of adults with disabilities.
Studies have increasingly found that sleeping problems often occurred among people with certain health problems, including obesity."You would expect to see poorer sleep within a chronically (慢性地) diseased population,"noted Dr Ronald Chervin,a sleep disorders expert in University of Michigan.
Financial stress and work shifts(倒班)can play roles in sleeplessness, too,Chervin added. He suggested those may be contributing factors in West Virginia,an economically depressed state with tens of thousands of people working in coal mining.
The report was based on results of an annual telephone survey of more than 400,000 Americans, including at least 3,900 in each state. The survey did not include people who use only cellphones.
1.What is the main idea of Paragraph 1?(No more than 15 words.)West Virginians suffer from lack of sleep the most perhaps due to health problems.
2.What does the underlined word"notably"in Paragraph 2 mean?(No more than 3 words.)Highly.
3.What was the possible reason for the high rate of sleeplessness in West Virginia according to Paragraph 3?(No more than 12 words.)West Virginia had a low level of several important measurements of health.
4.List three factors that contribute to sleeplessness based on the passage.
(No more than 8 words.)
①being too fat②financial stress③work shifts.
5.How was the research carried out?(No more than 10 words.)By interviewing over 400,000 Americans on the telephone..
