Measuring at 8.0Ms, a terrible earthquake strikes Wenchuan on May 12, 2008. A great number of houses and buildings was destroyed, left as many as 10,000,000 people homeless. That shocked us was that almost everything was in ruins. Fortunate, the government took steps immediately. Now after a decade, with people who come from all fields giving a helpful hand, a new city appears in the front of us but it looks like a beautiful garden. In my opinion, without the support of our motherland, the survivor could not lead such a comfort life as it is now. I am proud that I live so great a country.

Last week our school hold a sports meeting. Realize it was our last school sports meeting, we decided to make it a unforgettable experience. We first attended the opening ceremony, for whom our class had made a lot of preparations. Much to our excitements, our performance was a success. My classmates participated various events such as running, the high jump and the long jump. Due to the hard training the athletes had done before, and their performance was very impressive. Finally the result came which our class won the second place! Cup in hand, we took a picture together proud. This sports meeting will be a precious memory for all of them as time goes by.

My summer travel started terribly. I was at the Shanghai Railway Station buy a Ticket to Hangzhou. I was going to visit a friend here and after that I would go to Xiamen for long holiday. I bought my ticket but turned around to pick up my bag from the floor and then I realized that someone had stolen it. Luckily I had all my money on my pocket, but the only clothes I had was those I had on. It felt very strange to travel without any luggages. When I finally arrived at my friend, he lent to me lots of clothes. I feel very happy that I could change my clothes at last.

I was really exciting when my dad told me that a British girl was coming to our house for several day. I thought she would be a typically western girl with blond hair and blue eyes. During my last winter holiday, I went to countryside with my father to visit my grandparents. I find a big change there. I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard my name calling. I was chosen to play the leading role in Cinderella, that was my dream. As a shy and thin girl, I used to be quite afraid of speaking in the public. But my parents and teachers always encourage me to do so. Now I have changed great. In class, I am often the first one to stand back and answer questions even if I may make some mistakes. No pains, no gains. Now I am always brave enough overcome the difficulty in my heart and have changed in a lively girl.
