It was the International Women’s Day. Li Hua had a good idea and tells his father that he was going to do everything to celebrate it. He asked his father to help him. Then they made a good meal, cooking fish, pork, chicken, soup but some other delicious dishes. Li Hua laid the table and set a vase full with flowers in the middle of the table. After that they hid them behind the door and waited the mother in order to give her a surprise. When his mother came back and saw the delicious food, she felt happily.

Thirteen can be a challenging age. Not only did I have to adapt to my changing body, I also had to deal with my parents’ painful separation, a new family and the upsetting move from my country home to a crowded town.
When we moved, my beloved companion, a small brown pony had to be sold. I was heartbroken and terribly lonely. I couldn’t eat or sleep and cried all the time. Finally, realizing how much I missed my pony, my father bought me another horse, Cowboy.

For the whole next month we practiced running and jumping for hours in the hot sun and then I would walk Cowboy home, totally exhausted.
All of our hard work didn’t make me feel confident by the time the show came. One girl named Becky rode a big brown horse in the race events. She always won the blue ribbons. I sat at the gate and sweated all out while I watched Becky and her horse charge through the court and finish in first place.
My turn finally came. At the signal, we dashed toward the first fence, jumped over it without trouble and raced on to the next one. Cowboy then flew over the second, third and fourth fences like a bird and I turned him toward the finish line.
No cheers filled the air. The end of our run was met with surprised silence. Cowboy and I had beaten Becky and her fancy horse by two seconds!
I gained much more than a blue ribbon that day. At thirteen, I realized that no matter what the odds, I’d always come out a winner if I wanted something badly enough to work for it. I can be the owner of my destiny(命运).

Do you know of anyone who uses the truth to deceive (欺骗) ? When someone tells you something that is true, but leaves out important information that should be included, he can give you a false picture.

However, an honest statement would have been , “During Governor Smith’s term, the state had a net gain of two million jobs. ”
Advertisers will sometimes use half-truths. It’s against the law to make false statements, so they try to mislead you with the truth. An advertisement might say, “Nine out of ten doctors advised their patients to take Yucky Pills to cure toothache.” It fails to mention that they only asked ten doctors and nine of them work for the Yucky Company.
This kind of deception happens too often. It’s a sad fact of life: Lies are lies, and sometimes the truth can lie as well.

The hotel also features a beautifully crafted ice church where over 100 couples will get married this year and an Ice Bar that will serve drinks in ice glasses. Though dining options are limited to the hotel’s only restaurant，guests will have little to complain about with Michelin—trained chef Alexander Meier. To keep customers entertained，the hotel offers a variety of fun activities like snowshoeing，moose or snowmobile safaris，dog sledding，and even overnight wilderness camping.
The 26-year-·old tradition began accidentally in 1989 when locals organized an art exhibition to draw winter visitors to the remote village that lies 200 km north of the Arctic Circle. Among the many tourists was an adventurous group and they announced their intention of spending the night in the place where the exhibition was being held. That’s when the idea of building the icy accommodations dawned on the locals.

Opened in 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge was the first long?span bridge to carry motor traffic, and it quickly became the model for the great suspension bridges of the following century.
