Water is very important to living things. Without water, there would be no life on earth. All animals and plants need water. Man also needs water.

Water is found almost everywhere. Even in the driest part of the world, there is some water in the air.

Water may be in a solid, liquid or gas state. When it is a solid, it may be as hard as a rock. When it is a liquid, you can pour it out of a container. When it is a gas, you can’t see it or feel it.

Although about 70 percent of the earth surface is covered by water, many places in the world are still short of water. So we must make good use of water on earth.
