There used to be a factory near my house. The factory manager was blaming by the government because of the pollution had harmed people¡¯s health. But even then, he paid not attention. Then the factory forced to stop production. The manager said angry, ¡°Is there any fact that we had harmed people¡¯s health yet? In fact, we haven¡¯t.¡± Just then, a doctor came, with the result of a medical examine, saying the manager was suffering from cancer. This is very clear that the pollution has harmed not only other people¡¯s health and also the manager himself. At last, he realized an importance of keeping the air clean.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿My best friends gave me a present in a box on my birthday. It was a little heavy, which made me very curiously. So I intended to open it at once but she prevented me do so. She said I mustn¡¯t open it until I went back home but gave me a naughty smile. Although there is a strong desire in my mind to know that was inside the box, I just did as she said. On the way to home, all I did was thinking about the puzzle. Finally I opened the box. It was a cup printing with a pink word ¡ª friendship. It was so lovely that I liked very much.

Now, every time I use a cup, I will think about her and the friendship between us.

There are various kind of theme parks in the world. Some parks are famous for having the biggest or long roller coasters. But the theme park you are probable most familiar with is Disneyland, at which can be found throughout the world. It can bring you into the magical world. No wonder tourism is increased wherever there is a Disneyland. Other theme park is Dollywood. Its main attraction is it¡¯s culture. You can see beautiful bald eagles in the world¡¯s largest bald eagle preserve. If you want experience the ancient days and great deeds of English knights and ladies, princes and queens, you can go to Camelot Park. And there you can learn what people in ancient England ran their farms and took care of their animals.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Technological change is everywhere and affects every aspect of life, mostly for the better. However, social changes are brought about by new technology are often mistaken for a change in attitudes.

An example at hand is the involvement of parents in the lives of their children who are attending college. Surveys (µ÷²é) on this topic suggests that parents today continue to be ¡°very¡± or ¡°somewhat¡± overly-protective even after their children move into college dormitories. The same surveys also indicate that the rate of parental involvement is greater today than it was a generation ago. This is usually interpreted as a sign that today¡¯s parents are trying to manage their children¡¯s lives past the point where this behavior is appropriate.

However, greater parental involvement does not necessarily indicate that parents are failing to let go of their ¡°adult¡± children.

In the context (±³¾°) of this discussion, it seems valuable to first find out the cause of change in the case of parents¡¯ involvement with their grown children. If parents of earlier generations had wanted to be in touch with their college-age children frequently, would this have been possible?

Probably not. On the other hand, does the possibility of frequent communication today mean that the urge to do so wasn¡¯t present a generation ago? Many studies show that older parents¡ªtoday¡¯s grandparents¡ªwould have called their children more often if the means and cost of doing so had not been a barrier.

Furthermore, studies show that finances are the most frequent subject of communication between parents and their college children. The fact that college students are financially dependent on their parents is nothing new; nor are requests for more money to be sent from home. This phenomenon is neither good nor bad; it is a fact of college life, today and in the past.

Thanks to the advanced technology, we live in an age of bettered communication. This has many implications well beyond the role that parents seem to play in the lives of their children who have left for college. But it is useful to bear in mind that all such changes come from the technology and not some imagined desire by parents to keep their children under their wings.

¡¾1¡¿The surveys inform us of______.

A. the development of technology

B. the changes of adult children¡¯s behavior

C. the parents¡¯ over-protection of their college children

D. the means and expenses of students¡¯ communication

¡¾2¡¿ The writer believes that__________.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Drinking alcohol is a socially acceptable behavior in many parts of the world£®Some medical experts say light drinking may even be good for your health, especially for the heart£®But they say such health benefits should be compared to the many health risks connected with alcohol use£®

Some research suggests that having one to two drinks of alcohol a day may offer some health benefits£®Several large studies have shown that this type of moderate(ÊÊÁ¿µÄ) drinking may lower the risk of heart disease and other diseases£®

A study last year suggested that drinking small amounts of red wine may help lower the risk of breast cancer in women£®Researchers at Medical Center in California studied 36 women£®Each woman drank a glass of red or white wine every day for almost a month£®Researchers collected blood samples from the women two times a month to measure their hormone(¼¤ËØ) levels£®The next month the women who drank red wine were told to drink white wine instead£®The white wine drinkers were told to drink red wine£®The researchers found that the women who drank red wine had lower levels of the female hormone than the white wine drinkers£®They said red grapes have chemicals that may help to lower the risk of breast cancer£®

However, recent studies suggested that even small amounts of alcohol may generally increase the risk of breast cancer in women£®They found that women who drink four small glasses of wine a week increase their risk of breast cancer by 15 percent£®

Many studies have examined the harmful effects of alcohol use on the body£®Alicia Ann Kowalchuk serves as medical director, saying ¡°Healthy use for adults --- that's men under age 65 --- is no more than 4 drinks in a day and no more than 14 drinks in a week£®And for women of all ages, it's no more than 7 drinks in a week and no more than 2 drinks in a day£®¡± She says too much alcohol use has been linked to liver diseases, and many other cancers£®

¡¾1¡¿How did the researchers carry out their study?

A£® By following an example£®

B£® By listing facts£®

C£® By collecting information worldwide£®

Last weekend, I spent busy but meaningfully days ! I helped my grandparents with their trip in Dalian. On Saturday morning, together with my grandparents, I searched the Internet for the train schedule, the weather in Dalian, or some hotel informations. In the afternoon, they went to the train station and managed to buy two tickets for my grandparents though there had a long queue. After dinner, I packed the things into the suitcase, which my grandparents would be need, such as clothes, glasses, an umbrella, and a map. The next morning, I went to station to see them off. Waved goodbye to them on the platform, I felt happy for them and wished them a safe journey.

Now they must be enjoying themselves in Dalian , I thought !
