【答案】

How to deal with telecom fraud

These days telecom fraud occurs frequently by means of telephones, text messages, the internet or false information with the purpose of cheating people of their money, which has caused great property loss to some people. The cheat usually asks you to remit money or transfer accounts. The following are some measures which, I think, may be of some help to you in preventing telecom fraud.

First, don’t believe in the cheat. Whatever they say, don’t be fooled by them. Second, keep your personal information from others especially your ID number; otherwise you will easily fall to victim. Last but not the least, remember the saying “Money doesn’t grow on tree.” and be cautious about calls or short message from strangers.

To conclude, if we raise awareness of self-protection, the cheats will never get anything.

【题目】The World Health Organization says the widespread use of sugar in food products and drinks is a major concern in many areas. So WHO officials are calling on governments to require taxes on sugary drinks in an effort to limit their usage and popularity. The officials believe the taxes also would reduce the risk of health problems resulting from obesity.

Obesity is a condition in which the body stores large, unhealthy amounts of fat. Obese individuals are considered overweight. A new report says that in 2014 more than one-third of the adults in the world were overweight, and 500 million were considered obese. The United Nations agency estimates that in 2015, 42 million children under age 5 were either overweight or obese. It says that number represents an increase of about 11 million during the past 15 years. Almost half of these boys and girls live in Asia and one-fourth in Africa.

The U.N. agency blames unhealthy diets for a rise in diabetes cases. There are 422 million cases of the disease worldwide. WHO says 1.5 million people die from it every year. It says the use of sugar in food products, like sugary drinks, is a major reason for the increase in rates of obesity and diabetes.

Temo Waqanivalu is with the agency’s Department for the Prevention on Non-Communicable Diseases. He told VOA hat taxing sugary drinks would reduce consumption and save lives. Waganivalu noted that Mexico enacted a 10 percent tax on sugary drinks in 2014. He said by the end of the year, there was a 6 percent drop in the consumption of such drinks. Among poor people, the number of people who consumed sugary drinks dropped by 17 percent.

The WHO says people should limit the amount of sugar they consume. It says they should keep their sugar intake to below 10 percent of their total energy needs, and reduce it to less than 5 percent for improved health.

Most people feel lonely sometimes, but it usually only lasts between a few minutes and a few hours. 【1】 In fact, it is quite normal. For some people, though, loneliness can last for years. Psychologists are studying this complex phenomenon, and have identified three different types of loneliness.

The first kind of loneliness is temporary. This is the most common type. It usually disappears quickly and does not require any special attention. The second kind, situation-for example, family problem, the death of a loved one, or moving to a new place.2

The third kind of loneliness is the most severe. Unlike the others, chronic (the opposite of "temporary")usually lasts more than two years and has no specific cause.3 Unfortunately, many chronically lonely people think there is little or nothing they can do to improve their condition.

Psychologists agree that one important factor in loneliness is a person's social contacts, for example, friends, family members, co-workers, etc. We depend on various people for different reasons. For instance, our families give us emotional support, our parents and teachers give us guidance, and our friends share similar interests and activities. However, psychologists have found that, though lonely people may have many social contacts, they sometimes feel they should have more.4.

Psychologists are trying to find ways to help habitually lonely people for two reasons. They are unhappy and unable to socialize and there is a connection between chronic loneliness and serious illness as heart disease.5

A. It is very difficult to deal with.

B. What's more, temporary and situational loneliness can be a sad, and sometimes dangerous condition.

C. Although it can cause physical problems such as headaches and sleeplessness, it usually does not last for more than a year.

D. This kind of loneliness is not serious.

E. They don' t think they are in need of them.

F. People who experience it have problems socializing and becoming close to others.
