My Opinion on Cheating in Examinations

It is known to us all that some students cheat in examinations at school.

As students, we often take examinations at school, but sometimes we have too many examinations which are too difficult for us. On the other hand, some of us are lazy and don't work hard at their lessons. So when taking examinations, they sometimes cheat in order to get better results to please their parents and teachers.

In my opinion, it is wrong to cheat in examinations because it breaks the rules of schools, we students should be honest and try to get good results by studying hard instead of cheating in examinations. What's more, we should improve our study methods and get well prepared for examinations.

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful bird, which was very curious about hell. When she was little, her mother always told her that if she didn't master the flying skills, she would go to hell. She was so curious about hell that she always asked others what hell looked like, but no one was sure, because none of them had ever been there. Some said hell was a place full of water, and others told her that hell was full of burning fire. However, the bird knew they were lying. She wanted to find out what hell was.
When other birds were learning flying skills, she always hid herself and watched them. She thought in this way she could go to hell and see what hell looked like. However, she spent so little time learning flying skills that one day she was caught by a little boy. The little boy gave her to his grandpa in the countryside as a gift. The old man liked her very much. He made a delicate cage and put her in it. The bird was very worried because she thought she couldn't find out what hell was like staying in this small cage. However, she couldn't escape. Day after day, she just stayed in the cage, watching other birds flying. She lost her freedom and she became sadder and sadder. At last, she became ill. The old man finally opened the cage, but she was too weak to fly. Lying on the ground, she thought of the question that she ever asked all the time.

Last week my parents and I took a two-days trip to Emei Mountain in Sichuan. As everyone knows, it's famous mountain with all kinds of plants and animals. The weather was fine. It was almost noon we arrived at the foot of the mountain. The three of them were very excited. As we climbed the mountain, we fed monkeys, visiting temples and told stories. On the way up I was busy taking picture since the scenery was so beautiful. The time passes quickly. Evening came. We spent the night in a hotel at the top of the mountain. The food was expensive and the service was good. I was very tired that I fell asleep at the moment my head touched the pillow.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿¸ù¾Ý¶ÌÎÄÀí½â£¬Ñ¡ÔñÕýÈ·´ð°¸¡£The Pathfinder
When we found him, he was a sorry sight. His clothes were torn, his hands bleeding. Before we reached him, we saw him fall. He lay a moment. Then he pulled himself to his feet, walked unsteadily a few yards through the woods and fell again.
After we got him out, we went back to find the gun that he had thrown down. His tracks showed that for two days he had circled in the forest, within 200 yards of the road. His senses were so dulled by fear and tiredness that he did not hear the cars going by or see the lights at night.
We found him just in time.
This man, like others before him, had simply been frightened when he knew he was lost. What had been a near disaster might have turned out as only a pleasant walk, had he made a few preparations before he stepped from the highway or off a known path.
Whatever sense of direction that a man may have, it's still largely a question of observation. A skilled woodsman always keeps an eye on his surroundings. He notes that the shape of a mountain, the direction water flows through a swamp, and the way a tree leans across a path. With these in mind, he may be turned around many times, but he is seldom lost.
There are exceptions, of course, and once in a while a man does come across some strange problem that puts him into the ¡°lost¡± situation. A rainstorm or sudden blizzard may catch him without a compass (Ö¸ÄÏÕë) in his pocket. Darkness may find him in a rough area, where travel is dangerous without a light.
When this happens, the normal first reaction (·´Ó¦) is the fear of being laughed at as a result of his poor knowledge in the woods. He may also be concerned about the inconvenience that he will cause his friends when he doesn't show up. This false pride may lead him to keep on the move in a false effort to find his way against all difficulties.
The person who thinks ahead is seldom in great danger. He'll be safe if he observes carefully, thinks ahead, and remains calm.
£¨1£©The author suggested that if the man had not been found, he would have ________.
A.been shot by a gun
B.become confused
C.been attacked by wild animals
D.been in great danger
£¨2£©According to the passage, if a person gets lost in the forest, at the very beginning, he would _______.
A.worry about being laughed at
B.push himself to find his way out
C.feel it is convenient to ask for help from his friends
D.be concerned about being frightened by wild animals
£¨3£©When a person tries to find his way in the woods, _________ is the most important.
A.intelligence
B.observation
C.direction
D.chance
£¨4£©The author tells the story of the lost man as an example of people who _________.
A.go into the woods by themselves
B.don't know how to signal for help properly
C.are frightened when they think they are lost
D.notice everything when stepping from the highway

I feel it is pity that you didn't want to take part in the speech contest. In my view, the speech contest can benefit from you in different ways. Firstly, it makes you look for more informations about your favorite scientists on the Internet or in the library and learning more about them. Secondly, it is a challenge to prepare for a speech contest. You not only have to write a good article and also have to perform them properly£®What's more, after the contest, you can find yourself with some newly good friends, or even a prize£®I suggest you consider participating in the contest, that will really do good to you. If you change your mind, please let me know as sooner as possible¡¤

Telepathy (ÐÄÁé¸ÐÓ¦) is the ability to communicate without the use of the five senses. It's an instinct (±¾ÄÜ) which can be woken up in times of emergency or need. When we feel that something is happening or about to happen by instinct£¬we're using resources within the unconscious (DZÒâʶµÄ) mind. When the resources of two persons' unconscious minds link together into the same frequency (ƵÂÊ)£¬we call it telepathy.
We can either send or receive telepathy. If you know who is calling before you answer the ringing phone£¬you are probably a good receiver. If you think of a person and he/she calls you£¬you are most likely to be better at sending.
You can easily put your ability to the test. Thinking of somebody and wish him or her to contact you. Be patient. The other person may not be a good receiver£¬but they should contact you much earlier than would normally be expected. Or whenever the phone rings£¬try ¡®feeling' who is contacting you. Don't guess£¬but try to feel it with your mind. However£¬if neither of these works for you£¬that doesn't mean that you have no ability of telepathy. As mentioned earlier£¬telepathy is most likely to turn up in case of emergency.
Telepathy dreams often contain telepathic messages. Two people may both dream of the other and find that their dreams have a clear connection. These people are probably linking to each other's unconscious mind.
Telepathy & relationship. The more people spend time together£¬the more likely they are to be able to link up to the other's mind£¬especially when separated. There are two reasons for this. One is that they understand the other's mind through time spent together£»the other is that there is usually a strong desire to communicate. A mother will often sense that her child is in danger. This is due to the child's eagerly wanting his or her mother£¬knowing that this is the person who would always want to be there for them£¬and the mother's deep desire to protect her child from harm.
£¨1£©Telepathy happens when one ________.
A.has a similar dream with another person.
B.is good at guessing
C.wants to call his/her best friend
D.doesn't know a stranger
£¨2£©Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
A.The more people separate£¬the more likely that telepathy will occur in their life.
B.Telepathy occurs when people make use of their five senses.
C.Telepathy happens when people live far away and have no chance to see one another again.
D.One is better at sending than receiving telepathy if one receives a friend's call as one wishes.
£¨3£©Which of the following belongs to telepathy?
A.Your action in your dream.
B.People's communication over the telephone.
C.A mother's sense of her child being in danger.
D.A couple's long separation.
£¨4£©Which one can be the title of the passage?
A.Receiving Telepathy
B.Dream of telepathy
C.Telepathy: People's Dream
D.Mind-to-Mind Contact

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿As I write this I¡¯m sitting on a bus back to Santiago in Chile where I am currently working as a language assistant. I¡¯ve just spent the weekend in a city ¡¾1¡¿ (call) La Serena north of Santiago. I was lucky enough to see the flowering desert, a natural phenomenon that ¡¾2¡¿ (occur) around every five years here in the Atacama Desert.

¡¾3¡¿ (follow) a particularly large amount of rainfall earlier, a(n) ¡¾4¡¿(vary) of flowers come into blossom. Bright purple flowers create ¡¾5¡¿ unbelievably beautiful scene at the base of the surrounding mountains.

¡¾6¡¿ (catch) a glimpse of this magnificent treasure of nature, we took a bus from La Serena to a nearby town and then rented a car to go to the desert. ¡¾7¡¿ we saw did not disappoint us, and as expected it was even more fascinating than the pictures we had seen online. The bloom was particularly ¡¾8¡¿ (impress) this year due to the strong presence of El Nio (a band of warm water in the Pacific Ocean that changes the temperatures and increases the rainfall in certain areas). The vast carpet of colour ¡¾9¡¿ spread into the distance towards the contrasting green hills was ¡¾10¡¿ (simple) breathtaking and deserved a large amount of photos! A real reminder of the beauty our planet can provide.
